William “ Happy” O’Brien, Esq. - divorce lawyer, My original lawyer failed to prepare for a hearing, and do his job which cost me some major retirement benefits. Happy took over and provided superior, caring and dedicated service. I admire him and wish he was the rule and not the exception in ...the legal profession.

He was hired to represent my daughters in a case where there were Protective Orders issued on both sides. He was horrible with communication, and he definitely didn't represent us to the best of his ability. He told me I was a hot head, which I found to be VERY unprofessional. There was never any ...type of Engagement Letter presented to us explaining the fee arrangement or the scope of work to be done. He called my husband and asked that he bring a $5,000 check to the office to represent us in this matter. When my husband got to the office, O'Brien was of course not there to discuss how the $5,000.00 was being applied. Long story short, the matter was dropped on both sides, and it had NOTHING to do with anything that he did in this matter, which was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but waste our time and take our money. The other side did not have the money to pursue it any further. If considering hiring him to represent you, HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT LETTER DETAILING YOUR FEE AGREEMENT, DEMAND COPIES OF ALL CORRESPONDENCE SENT TO OPPOSING COUNSEL, DEMAND BILLING STATEMENTS FOR HIS TIME SPENT ON YOUR CASE AND DOCUMENT EVERY TIME YOU CALL HIM (TIME AND DATE) SO YOU HAVE A RECORD OF HOW MANY TIMES YOU CALL HIM AND HE DOESN'T RETURN YOUR CALL. KEEP ALL TEXT OR EMAIL MESSAGES........YOU WILL NEED THEM!!!!!!

This is my fourth time retaining Happy. He is genious in a courtroom. It is amazing to watch him in action. Happy has identified issues with process followed numerous times for me and today he took the time to call and negoitate on my behalf with the Commonwealth's Attorney's office, explaining so...me issues and brokering a compromise. I am so thankful for Happy, Alex and his entire staff at the new firm of Shepperd & O'Brien!

Did not go over case with me until 15 min prior to court. Very busy. Had 4 other court dates the same day. Was convicted of DUI. Pointless to even have a lawyer. He did not help my case. Still spent 5 days in jail. Once released he refused to return my phone calls or text. I will be a filing a Compl...aint with the bar association. I paid for a service. NOT SATISFIED AT ALL.
