Matthew Thomas Mikula

Matt is a native of the Richmond, Virginia. He attended Virginia Military Institute receiving his Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Spanish. During his time at VMI he was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Sigma Iota, and Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. After graduating, he attended the College of William and Mary School of Law, and received his Juris Doctor Degree in 2010.

After graduating law school, Matt clerked for the Honorable Herbert C. Gill, Jr of the Chesterfield Circuit Court.

In 2011, Matt worked for Spencer LLP, engaging in complex civil litigation matters including products liability, intellectual property and discrimination cases. In 2013, he joined Gordon, Dodson, Gordon & Rowlett, were he focused his practice on criminal/traffic defense, personal injury, family law, estate planning and civil litigation. In November 2016, Matt partnered with Kent Gilliam and their firm, the Gilliam Law Group, will continue to represent clients as a full-service firm to the Richmond metropolitan area.

Matt is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.

Matt is Vice President of the VMI Club of Richmond and has volunteered with the John Marshall Foundation, teaching high school students about legal history in America. He is a member of the Chesterfield, Henrico and City of Richmond Bar Associations.
