I had spoken with Ms. Montgomery over the phone for a consultation and it was her straightforwardness and candid personality that got me wanting to work with her. I had met with 2 other lawyers prior to her and I felt she was more personable and approachable, but direct at the same time. The quick summary is that Ms. Montgomery is approachable, professional, deliberate, strategic, views her contract with you as a joint relationship, and most importantly is cost conscious. Hire her!! The greatest asset Ms. Montgome...ry brought to the table was her willingness to provide services in the minimal amount of time and effort as possible, and allowing me to provide input into the direction and action(s) to be taken. Ms. Montgomery is extremely approachable and creates an environment easy to share information without judgment. She is very accessible through her assistant, by email or phone. She is very knowledgeable, and timely. Ms. Montgomery provided insight, as well as, legal guidance as to direction and best manner to address each issue; however, in the end allowed the decision to be mine. There were many times Ms. Montgomery could have ran up billable hours through document reviews, editing, formatting, etc. but instead passed on our recommendations or concerns to the other attorney. She is very conscientious and deliberate with without being compulsive. One aspect that I liked is that she not only strongly advocated for me, but also made it clear when she felt my position was not a reasonable one. If you can work out a lot of the agreement with your spouse, and/or prepared to be fair it will be the other party that makes life complicated and expensive and at that point you will for sure want Ms. Montgomery as your legal representative.

Well, my -firsthand- experience with Stephanie was very positive. I retained Stephanie to navigate a complicated divorce involving multiple businesses as well as myriad financial & tax issues. Her experience as a bankruptcy attorney served my interests as well, and I was happy to have her support dur...ing a contentious court appearance, since she succeeded in having opposing council's egregious request for extra legal fees dismissed by the judge. It was clear from that experience that Stephanie is well-known and highly-regarded in the legal community. It is true, you get what you pay for, and it's also true that quality is not expensive, it's priceless. I'm -so- glad I hired an expert, because it ended up saving me fees during the divorce, and the settlement ended up saving my assets, which was my goal from the outset.
