The Passionate Total Package

...My research post sudden-need for divorce representation led to a consult w/well-regarded by peers, well-reviewed Ms. Jennifer Fox in Richmond, VA. Charisma and intellectual gravitas was my immediate impression. I made my "case"/communicated the financial groundwork from my dozen documents in hand.... Ms. Fox was patient, then informative, relating the legal parameters for seperation leading to divorce, "amicable" or otherwise. Consumately professional, she intimated that I may be better served by Ms. Stephanie A. Montgomery, an attorney with a powerful skillset in divorce law, combined with passion and compassion regarding the protection and care of her clients. Ms. Fox had worked alongside Ms. Montgomery, and explained her advocacy also due to my divorce occuring geographically being in her jurisdiction, in case "amicable" went sideways, and local court apearences became neccesary. (meaning billable costs of travel-time for Ms. Fox to Williamsburg should be considered a factor) Ms. Fox "suggested" I speak less..let Ms. Montgomery's own professional intellectual agility do me the most service. ( This turned out to be great advice personally and professionally) Second consult appointment happened in few days. ...Thankfully, the 5 minute drive to Ms. Montgomery's location was a relief, and her office desk staff and paralegal were warm and cordial, in minutes, Ms. Montgomery escoted me to her adjacent office. I experienced a wave of relief, that "you're right were you're supposed to be" in that moment, her prescence/vibe, vocal tone and impression on point...effortlessly. I comfortably listened as the facts and "game-board" were confirmed. My then wife had retained counsel some months ago, and had produced a financial spreadsheet and preliminary legal agreement Stephanie could analyze for their intent and stategy. There were several terms/demands not even legally appropriate involving shared married expenses, even in the face of opposing party's superior income and net worth. Ms.Montgomery then began the process to "qualify" my wants/needs/intent. Within minutes she had formed a viable counter-proposal to return to opposing council and client. I left relieved and finally in posiitive spirits. My situation required a few office visits for signatures on dox, I was efficiently updated by Keidra A. Frazier, Ms. Montgomery's paralegal. It was always so pleasant to visit, to see the staff and get the ear of Stephanie on occasion, asking advice on this or that (home for sale deed was in wife's name)...the trust she inpires is priceless itself. Finally got the decree last week (court slog thru the holiday calendar)...I will continue to Sing Her Praise throughout the Land. Cheers, G.X.Fox

Honest, caring Legal Professional

Look going through a Divorce is never an easy decision so I went into the process knowing I would need someone who would be able to provide me with the best legal support. After talking with several Law Offices it was clear that Ms Montgomery was my choice. From the start she took time to explain eve...ry detail to me. She walked me through every step and it was obvious she genuinely cares. As a retired military member I knew things would be very difficult and honestly I was very apprehensive but Ms Montgomery reassured me and kept me focused. In the end I am very happy with the outcome of my case. Look there is nothing easy about a divorce but there is no one I would have rather had representing me then Stephanie Montgomery. If you are looking for someone who truly cares about her clients, very open and honest and a top notch professional with the absolute best support staff, look no further.

STAY AWAY! Breached her Fiduciary Duty

As Plaintiff. Retained Stephanie to file for Annulment of Marriage. She talks me out of it, and file for improper Divorce Complaint instead. She never properly disclosed conflict of interest. She file for Divorce instead, offers Defendant improper Agreement without my knowledge. Kept corresponding wi...th defendant, Breached her Fiduciary Duty, refused to produce my complete file and disclose information. Misleads me all the way and refused to mediate, she knows the can only prove it all claims. At the she tells me the DA is her friend and and knows all judges. For certain you’ll lose money, time and be left to suffer worse. STAY AWAY! She talks about it all even to clients of the firm and to other. No Client privileges.

Ben, we can agree to disagree with the facts as you have stated. Your file was not only overnighted to you nearly a year and a half ago but it was also electronically sent to you via email multiple times after I consulted with the Virginia State Bar regarding you. To my knowledge you have had 5 attorneys, 4 of which requested to be relieved as counsel just as I did. I wish you the best in resolving whatever your remaining issues are.

Unfiled bankruptcy

I went to see Ms. Montgomery to inquire about filing for bankruptcy. I paid all the fees in full and never filed. She stated it was just a click in order to be done filing. It was never filed. I requested a refund of my fees on multiple occassions for services not rendered. She stated she would have ...to see what the balance due back to me was since she had completed 90% of the work. Never heard from her again. I have never received an itemized statement detailing what services she performed, if there was a balance due, nothing. I know I will never get my money back. This is just a buyer beware. Very expensive lesson learned for me.

Good Afternoon Shannon. You signed a retainer agreement on March 31, 2015. That agreement clearly detailed the procedures regarding retainers. Your entire petition was entered and we took creditor calls waiting on you to come in an finalize the process. My office called you on numerous occasions as is noted in the file. 3 years later when we do hear from you, your situation changed and you no longer qualified as you are well aware. There are few facts you left out in your posting that needed clarification. I wish you both the best.

First Class

Truly skilled and a caring professional. Divorce is indeed an extremely stressful and emotional experience for most, if not all, of us. Stephanie is one to be trusted with such matters and will work tirelessly for you. And she has a way with those of us that panic at a perceived Armageddon of a divor...ce and will set you at ease. Thank you Stephanie, you are the best.
