I needed a lawyer, and I needed one fast. My wife had served me with divorce papers and I didn’t know where to turn or what to do. I had 21 days to respond and I was devastated. How do you find a good lawyer, particularly when you are in a situation where you never thought you’d be and where you hav...e absolutely no experience? I started an interview process, first getting some recommendation from friends. I had interviewed three lawyers, with indifferent impressions, when the last said “Ya’ know who you need, the best in Williamsburg – Stephanie Montgomery”. I made an appointment with Ms. Montgomery. During the interview I could tell she was different from the rest. Her credentials are outstanding and her experience is deep. She knows the law and the process. She combines an extraordinary strategic ability with the tactics to implement that strategy. By itself, that would have done it. There was something else though that makes her special; we clicked. Here was an attorney I could talk to, for she not only heard me, she listened. Straight-forward and candid, she tells you what you need to know and how it is.
