Not a good choice

I retained her in 2015, 5-6 months after separation from my ex. Have been meaning to leave a review to warn others. Enough time has passed for me to calmly leave a valid review. Specifics: Pushed for discovery from me that was needless and never utilized by either attorney. When I indicate...d I needed more time and questioned the seemingly contrived urgency, she told me I "needed medication." Evidently she has medical training as well? Pushed me to agree to move out of my house and let me ex move back in. Crazy right? Turns out it was immediately prior to her "taking vacation" then switching firms upon her return. I In hindsight she was clearing her slate with sloppy, hurried work. I unfortunately allowed her to keep my file with her move. (I eventually found a great attorney at the firm from which she departed.) Refused to send an offer to my ex to buy her out of my house. Ms. Fox told me the "offer wasn't high enough." My attorney was negotiating against me it seemed. (I'm a CPA, I have a pretty good grasp on values, my ex ended up getting LESS when the house sold.) She sent a letter to my OLD address (where my ex then resided) detailing my offer and why it was not sufficient. She had my new address on file but overlooked it. Luckily the letter was forwarded to my PO box or my ex would have received it. I strongly suggested she should not charge me for this pointless letter...she didn't. Eventually I had had enough and fired her (my guess is technically we "mutually disengaged" but that was not the case. In the end I wasted many thousands of dollars. I could give more details of poor work. The divorce process can be a broken system that many attorneys use to churn hours, bill for every email (that's a joke) and burn through retainers. Don't do what I did. There are better options.

Could not be more satisfied

I am grateful to have found a lawyer who was forthcoming on matters dealing with my case. Mrs. Fox was extremely prepared when it came time to stand before a judge. I felt like she really took the time to know the details of my case. While in the courtroom she was a force. I can say without a doub...t that she cares about the outcome of her cases for the sake of her clients. Knowing that I have a lawyer that does not only fight for me but also looks out for my best interest provides me a peace of mind. There are some lawyers that tell you the truth and refocus their clients to what the realities are in their case. Then there are lawyers who would prefer to let a judge do that for them. I am pleased that Mrs. Fox is the former!

Wonderful!

I met Jennifer in distress of my divorce and custody of my son as my ex had filed for full custody. She led me to understand the process and was patient with me and my million questions through every step of the way. She took note of my wishes and put them into actions seamlessly. I did not have to w...orry when I was under her care. If there was something I needed to know, she informed me immediately. When I feared I might lose my everything as a mother, she took care of everything and the end result was even better than I ever could have imagined. She was thorough and knowledgeable of her jurisdiction and family law. Her experience shows through her handling of her files and decisive actions. I would highly recommend her to anyone who ever finds themselves in my shoes. You will be in great hands!

Dave- divorce/separation

Mrs. Fox came highly recommended to me from a friend who was very satisfied with the level of service she provided during his separation and divorce. I am very thankful for his recommendation. I had been dealing with an unfaithful wife for seven years fearful to pursue a divorce knowing the impact ...it may have on our twelve year old daughter. This was the hardest decision I've ever made. Mrs. Fox was very understanding of my situation. She took the time to explain that although divorce is hard on everyone involved, it is sometimes necessary. Her explanation of the law as it pertained to my divorce was thorough and professional. I liked the fact that she listened to what I wanted to get out of the divorce, then provided legal options, giving me the freedom to direct the outcome. When my wife's attorney redirected and made changes to our agreement, she was prompt in getting them to me and explaining what the changes meant and how they would impact my situation. When all parties met to discuss the agreement, many thoughts and ideas were mentioned within the two hour meeting. Not being a person who likes to make quick decisions, I felt confident based on her responses that she was looking after my best interest. She kept an open line of communication by phone and E-Mail regardless if it was after normal business hours. She even recommended counseling for my daughter and I to get through these tough times which made me feel like she truly cared for me as a person and not just a client.

Very little guidance from this attorney

Ms. Fox came highly recommended from others, but my situation did not end so well. I felt I had to settle out of court due to the lack of attention and guidance I was getting during my case. I was also informed by Ms. Fox that the case was not going the way she was expecting or used to and she had pu...lled in her partner to discuss. In the settlement meeting Ms. Fox was unaware of some of the terms of my PSA and had to ask the other laywer to show her some of the items for referance. I felt I had to speak up and defend for myself - at that time Mrs. Fox pulled me out of the meeting and said "you are a strong woman but you dont want to go up against me". Not exactly what you want to hear from the person who is supposed to be on your side. There was also a chain of emails I was copied on between Ms. Fox and the other attorney were at one point Ms Fox commented "my client has told me XYZ, is this true?" This made me very uncofortable that my attorney was sharing what I told her with the opposing attorney and asking for verification - poor choice in my opinion and did not make me feel I could trust her with my very private information any longer. Again, Jennifer came highly recommended from someone she successfully represented. In my situation I felt she was uninvolved and provided little guidance. Even once telling me a story how she prepped very little for a case, but "turned it on in the courtroom and kicked butt". That should have been a red flag.
