I practice law with my husband, and partner, Michael Winget-Hernandez at our office located in Zion Crossroads, Virginia which is just east of Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to opening our law practice, I worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in Richmond, Virginia for almost seven years. My practice at the OAG was focused on complex multi-state and federal civil litigation. I was lead litigation counsel for the Commonwealth of Virginia for two cases in 2013 which resulted in some of the largest recoveries of Virginia taxpayer dollars: Virginia v. McKesson ($33 million settlement) and In re Johnson & Johnson ($21 million settlement).
My husband and I became lawyers because we want to help people. Our law practice is focused on supporting our community - whether it be drafting a will or contract, defending a speeding ticket or other minor criminal violation, or representing a small business or an employee in employment dispute.
Our experience in complex corporate fraud investigations and complex civil litigation, positions us to conduct internal investigations or serve as litigation counsel for corporate clients.
My most important work is raising my two teenage children, Zach and Madeleine. I also enjoy practicing and teaching yoga every chance I get.

Highly recommended.
My Dad and I were referred to Michael and Lelia by adult protective services while my mother was being admitted to long term care. My parents had been very wise with their money over the years and we knew that navigating Medicaid alone would be more of a challenge than we could cope with. Michael...

Family Wealth Planning
Lelia was very clear in explaining our options and walking us through the Family Wealth Planning process. It's much more than just a will! She was patient, flexible with our schedules, and we really feel secure knowing this has been done the right way.

traffic matter
Ms Winget- Hernandez represented me on a traffic matter. She was helpful and reassuring during our free consultation. She called me during the proceeding for clarification of details and the case was dismissed.

Excellent results and experience!
I hired Mrs Winget-Hernandez to represent me for a speeding ticket. She was very easy to communicate with via phone and email, and she ended up getting the ticket dismissed. The whole process was pain free and I would highly recommend her services.

Lelia Winget-Hernandez handled many service contracts and agreements for me for the past few years. I found her to be efficient, responsive and knowledgable, and also a caring individual who worked with me with great integrity.
"Having worked closely with Lelia for almost three years, I unconditionally endorse her. She is extremely capable, hard working and determined to provide helpful services. She is one of the best attorneys with whom I have had the pleasure of working."
