William A. "Beau" Bassler was born and raised in Winchester, Virginia and graduated from James Wood High School in 1991. He received a B.S. in Psychology from George Mason University in 1995 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1998. Beau served as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Winchester from 1998 until 2001 when he began private practice. He has both prosecuted and defended thousands of cases in all levels of Virginia courts, including the Supreme Court of Virginia. With almost 20 years of experience, Beau can handle all criminal law matters, including: serious felonies; misdemeanors; drug offenses; complex financial or white collar crimes; crimes of violence; sex crimes/offenses; DUI/DWI; traffic offenses; traffic accidents; and driver's license restoration. He also has experience in many other types of cases, including the representation of children and incapacitated adults.
Beau is past President of the Winchester/Frederick County Bar Association. He served as the past Chair of the Virginia State Bar Seventh District Committee (which covers the counties of: Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, Page, Rockingham, Loudoun, Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison, Green, Orange, Albemarle, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Goochland, and the cities of: Winchester, Harrisonburg and Charlottesville). He is also the Escheator for the 26th Judicial Circuit (appointed by Governor Mark R. Warner in 2002). Beau is a former instructor of law at the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy.

First of all, in today's day and age it is rare to go to trial. Deals are made and unless there is a life sentence at stake or someone is wrongly accused, there will not be a trial. Even though I was still convicted, Beau was an amazing lawyer who did everything he could to at least lighten my sentence. He was successful in doing so as well!
