My husband (a US citizen) and I reached out to Alex about a J-1 waiver after being either turned away or misinformed by several other attorneys. Because of the two-year home residency requirement tied to my J-1 visa, we couldn’t move forward with a green card through marriage until the waiver was res...olved. Alex and Taylor (the paralegal who worked with us), were the first to lay out a realistic plan of action toward a waiver and a green card and give us a little bit of hope. They helped us pursue a no objection letter, with Taylor even going to the embassy on our behalf multiple times. When that option didn’t work out, my husband and I were fully prepared to pack up and leave the country. But they encouraged us to consider a hardship waiver instead—and it turns out, they were right. They worked with us for months on the waiver, giving clear direction on how to build our case, organize evidence, and draft all the required documents. When we got an RFE, they handled it and even helped contact congressional reps to support our case. Once the hardship waiver was approved, they filed our green card application right away. From that point on, things were smooth—minus one minor RFE, which they also handled without issue. They also made sure everything was coordinated properly between my personal immigration process and my work visa status, which could’ve easily gotten messy. Alex is knowledgeable, well-connected, never sugar-coating and transparent when he didn’t know something. He would follow up after researching or reaching out to contacts to get us answers. Taylor is beyond competent, prompt, comforting and "knows how to read a room". He was funny when I needed someone to lighten up the mood, serious when he needed to be, and he always followed through!
