Steven David Stone

My retainer was spent very quickly, his bills were vague as to where all the costs came from, and once my divorce was over, talking to my ex-wife it is clear Stone did NOT do most of what he charged me for. As far as I can tell all he did was drive up both her and my attorney fees. Do NOT hire this... man.

I went to Mr. Stone for help in obtaining a child support order. He was recommended by the union at a discounted rate. Mr. Stone quoted me a reasonable price. I tried explaining to him the complexity of my case. I thought he understood. Maybe it was his over confidence shining. Mr. Stone gave me ...a plan that I agreed to. Later on I received a phone call from another lawyer helping with my case explaining to me that he had filed the case in a different way than agreed upon. I was never consulted. I was obviously upset. Mr. Stone's response basically was "I'm charging you every time I have to read & write an email and make a phone call." Mr. Stone only cares about money. He doesn't care to listen to the needs of his clients. I'm really not sure why my child support order cost me well over $20K. Yes, I received bills stating what was done but I don't really know why those actions were needed.
