also known as Pat McNichol
A consumer protection and credit lawyer in Maryland and Virgina with extensive banking and financial law experience, Pat McNichol believes that no case is too small – or too big.
Whether through single-plaintiff cases or class actions, Pat is committed to getting the best results for vulnerable consumers.
Pat’s practice involves representing Maryland and Virginia consumers in matters of unauthorized bank or credit transactions, credit reporting errors and more. For his work, Best Lawyers has named Pat to its annual “Ones to Watch” list for banking and finance law four years in a row.
Before joining Kelly Guzzo, PLC, Pat practiced at an international law firm, handling hundreds of credit card, banking and auto finance matters for large financial institutions. He also completed two federal clerkships: for the Honorable M. Hannah Lauck of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia; and for the Honorable Joseph R. Goodwin of the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Pat co-authored the Virginia chapter in the American Bar Association’s The Law of Class Action: Fifty-State Survey in 2020 and 2021 and he contributed to the Consumer Banking and Payments Law treatise published by the National Consumer Law Center. He has also spoken on litigation strategies and topics of bank fraud at national conferences for the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the National Consumer Law Center.
Pat graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law with the school’s highest honors, and he served on the editorial board of the Law Review. He lives in Richmond, Virginia, and loves to hike with his wife, Caitlin, and their dogs, Leo and Max.
