Brian S. Szmak

Brian is approachable, easy to talk to, and friendly, all of which creates a relaxed and trusting attorney-client relationship with consistent and clear communication.

Your lawyer should be prepared to answer your questions and address your concerns. You should know what is happening in your case, and why. You should feel comfortable reaching out to your lawyer whenever you have a question or concern, and be able to have honest conversations. Your lawyer should be forthright about the realities of your case, without offering only doom-and-gloom cynicism or unwarranted promises. Brian is prepared to have those conversations with you, and to guide you through this process.

Brian is originally from central New Jersey. He moved to the DC area in 2014 for law school. He became a licensed Virginia attorney in 2017 after graduating law school, and moved into the Commonwealth shortly thereafter. Mr. Szmak’s law school experience includes work in a non-profit advocacy organization, a public interest law firm, the United States Federal Election Commission, and the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.

Prior to joining the PJI Law, Brian practiced civil litigation and criminal defense in courts throughout Northern Virginia, to include Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Prince William, Loudoun, and Alexandria.

He now focuses on Civil Litigation. Mr. Szmak is admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA).
