About me

Amy L. Bradley has litigated cases heard in the state courts of every jurisdiction in Northern Virginia, the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Amy’s extensive trial experience includes more than 100 bench and jury trials in criminal and civil matters ranging from traffic offenses to serious criminal offenses to personal injury and property damage cases.

Amy previously worked as an attorney for one of the country’s largest insurance companies giving her unique and valuable insight into how to maximize recovery for injured persons. In this capacity, Amy learned how large insurance companies operate and handle and evaluate claims from beginning to end.

Prior to working as an insurance defense attorney, Amy practiced criminal defense alongside partners Peter Greenspun, Jonathan Shapiro, James Davis and Christie A. Leary at Greenspun, Shapiro, Davis & Leary, P.C. Amy was a member of the defense team that represented Alfredo Prieto, in his third capital murder sentencing trial in Fairfax County Circuit Court. Amy’s experience at the firm included a wide variety of cases ranging from traffic offenses, to embezzlement, to murder.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Amy’s first career path as a television journalist took her across the United States. The Wyoming native graduated from the University of Missouri’s renowned School of Journalism with honors. While at Mizzou, she began working in the television news industry. Amy took on a variety of roles including producing, reporting, anchoring, and even operating a live truck for KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri.  She landed her first job after graduation as the morning producer anchor at WGEM-TV in Quincy, Illinois. Amy’s journey next took her to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she also anchored the morning news for WISE-TV. Amy’s final stop in the news business was WBRE-TV, where she worked as an investigative reporter. While in Pennsylvania, Amy appeared as a guest commentator for The Abrams Report on MSNBC. She was nominated for an Emmy for her reporting of the Hugo Selenski double-murder trial in 2007. Her opportunity to attend and report on several high profile trials as a reporter propelled her return to school to pursue a second career path as a trial attorney.

An active member of the Fairfax Bar Association (FBA), Amy currently serves as a member of the FBA’s General District Court Committee and Pro Bono Committee. Amy previously served as a Board Member and Secretary of the Young Lawyers Section. She is also a member of the George Mason Chapter of the American Inns of Court. She regularly volunteers her time for various programs to benefit the community at large including: Wills for Heroes, Pro Bono Attorney of the Day, Middle School Speaker, Devonshire, and Court Tour programs. Amy has also authored articles for the Fairfax Bar Journal and Docket Call.  She regularly mentors high school students and new attorneys.
