I had never hired a lawyer before and was very nervous about hiring one, especially one in another state who I couldn’t meet in person. I found him online and read many reviews before I contacted him. I was not sure I even had a chance to get disability retirement as I had an unusual health situa...tion. Prior to hiring him, I had already gone through the process with my agency for approval to work from home, be put on FMLA, etc. and had an extremely stressful time with that. No matter what documentation I provided, it was never right. They would always come back and say they needed something other than what they asked for in their letters. I knew OPM would be even worse.
