No nonsense with tangible results

Understandably, I was hesitant to retain a "long distance" attorney. In hindsight I now consider it to be one of the best moves I have ever made. Mr. McGill navigated the beauracracy of obtaining my federal disability retirement seamlessly. I was kept apprised of pertinent developments in the case a...nd there was absolutely no time wasted on empty rhetoric or excuses. Every pitfall that I may have made going at it alone was avoided by having an attorney that was well equipped to deal with the federal government. The most prudent move one can make is to not try beating a man at his own game.

TERRIBLE

I paid Mr. McGill $6,000 up front. He drafted a badly written application with many inaccuracies which I had to edit heavily, and then took months to file it. A year later, my case has not even assigned yet at OPM. Worse, on 4 separate issues related to my claim he gave me BAD ADVICE, to my detr...iment. I almost lost health insurance coverage due to his bad advice; he also told me that I could not file simultaneously for early retirement & disability, which I recently discovered is FALSE - and I could have been getting paid all these months. Around 6 months ago I stopped even bothering to contact him. Throughout the process I have had to do my own research & follow-up with OPM. I'm basically representing myself, but I'm out $6000. He's been sick, but that's no excuse for malpractice. He should retire.

I have no idea who this person is. I have never provided "false" advice, and I would encourage this person -- if indeed he or she is a client and not a competitor -- to contact me to discuss whatever complaints there are. Communication is the key to every successful attorney-client relationship. Additionally, I have not been "sick" as alleged, and the fact that this posting is by an anonymous individual is quite suspicious. I am considered, by most in the field, to be the top expert in the field of Federal Disability Retirement, and such unnamed and unconfirmed allegations are unfair, to say the least.

Very highly recommended, Superb experience and outcome!

Attorney McGill was recommended by several colleagues. I had a difficult situation and he managed to pull off what I consider a miracle. He was very prompt in returning calls and messages. Everything was done efficiently and with care. I could not have asked for a better experience or outcome. I reco...mmend Attorney McGill to any and everyone going through the retirement process.

Robert is the BEST Attorney I've ever hired!

Mr. Robert R. McGill immediately contacted me upon request for consultation. He is a “Bottom Line Up Front” (BLUF) professional Attorney that gets right to the heart of the matter. Robert was extremely responsive, knowledgeable from start to finish, and comprehensively explained the obscure and convo...luted OPM retirement process. Though I never met Robert, I will hire him again without any hesitation – he is simply the BEST!

Best Retirement Move I Made

When I was researching applying for a disability retirement there were a lot of lawyers advertising their services in that regard, but Robert is one of the few who don't operate on a contingency fee basis. I was somewhat concerned about, but after checking with 2 contingency fee based attorneys I fo...und that in the end their fee was 2 or 3 times Robert's. Not only that, after speaking to all of them I found Robert the most confident in his ability to achieve a positive outcome. Turns out Robert is well worth his fee. My disability application was approved the first time out. Additionally, I think mine was somewhat more difficult than most as I applied "after I retired". I can't say enough about Robert in regard to his handling my disability retirement application. I would recommend him to friend and family.
