also known as OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer
I am an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer and have been practicing Federal Disability Retirement Law for over 25+ years.
Federal Disability Retirement, under FERS or CSRS, is a “paper presentation” to the U.S. Officer of Personnel Management. If it is denied twice — both at the Initial Stage of the process as well as at the Second, Reconsideration Stage — then an appeal can be filed with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board. To be successful in geting disability retirement benefits at any of the 3 stages, it is important to consult with an OPM Federal Disability Retirement Lawyer to optimize your chances of success.
As an OPM Disability Retirement Lawyer, I believe that my educational background and experience makes me uniquely qualified in this field, and that is why I enjoy a high rate of success in getting my clients approved — at all three stages of the process.
I charge a “flat fee” — a 1-time fee not based upon an hourly rate. I decided years ago that I was not going to “nickle-and-dime” my clients, and that my clients were going to know up front what I charge.
I earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America and graduated at the top of my class, summa cum laude. I then went on to do graduate work at the University of Virginia, and completed all course work for a Masters in Philosophy. Thereafter, I went to Law School and graduated from the Columbus School of Law, earning my Juris Doctor Degree.
My background and training in logic, analytical thought, writing technical philosophical treatises, and earning further training in the Law has prepared me to practice Administrative Law, where the majority of legal argumentation is through paper submissions and transactions. Persuasive argumentation, logical delineation and legal analysis are the tools for a successful outcome in representing Federal and Postal workers to obtain their Federal Disability Retirement benefits.
It is a passion of mine, and my clients will attest to the thoroughness of my work.

No nonsense with tangible results
Understandably, I was hesitant to retain a "long distance" attorney. In hindsight I now consider it to be one of the best moves I have ever made. Mr. McGill navigated the beauracracy of obtaining my federal disability retirement seamlessly. I was kept apprised of pertinent developments in the case a...

TERRIBLE
I paid Mr. McGill $6,000 up front. He drafted a badly written application with many inaccuracies which I had to edit heavily, and then took months to file it. A year later, my case has not even assigned yet at OPM. Worse, on 4 separate issues related to my claim he gave me BAD ADVICE, to my detr...
I have no idea who this person is. I have never provided "false" advice, and I would encourage this person -- if indeed he or she is a client and not a competitor -- to contact me to discuss whatever complaints there are. Communication is the key to every successful attorney-client relationship. Additionally, I have not been "sick" as alleged, and the fact that this posting is by an anonymous individual is quite suspicious. I am considered, by most in the field, to be the top expert in the field of Federal Disability Retirement, and such unnamed and unconfirmed allegations are unfair, to say the least.

Very highly recommended, Superb experience and outcome!
Attorney McGill was recommended by several colleagues. I had a difficult situation and he managed to pull off what I consider a miracle. He was very prompt in returning calls and messages. Everything was done efficiently and with care. I could not have asked for a better experience or outcome. I reco...

Robert is the BEST Attorney I've ever hired!
Mr. Robert R. McGill immediately contacted me upon request for consultation. He is a “Bottom Line Up Front” (BLUF) professional Attorney that gets right to the heart of the matter. Robert was extremely responsive, knowledgeable from start to finish, and comprehensively explained the obscure and convo...

Best Retirement Move I Made
When I was researching applying for a disability retirement there were a lot of lawyers advertising their services in that regard, but Robert is one of the few who don't operate on a contingency fee basis. I was somewhat concerned about, but after checking with 2 contingency fee based attorneys I fo...
