Preeminent Federal Disability Attorney

Very, very thorough attorney, no stone left unturned. Extremely knowledgeable and accurate in assessments. Took my disability retirement case beginning to end successfully and answered my questions along the way. Mr McGill was always responsive and helpful. I would hire him again without reservation ...as well as recommend him to my family members.

Mr. McGill is a no nonsense Attorney who seems to know the law better than anyone within the Government. Mr. McGill was always correct in forecasting the Governments next move and requests. Without him, I would have given up.

Robert is the BEST Attorney I've ever hired!

Mr. Robert R. McGill immediately contacted me upon request for consultation. He is a “Bottom Line Up Front” (BLUF) professional Attorney that gets right to the heart of the matter. Robert was extremely responsive, knowledgeable from start to finish, and comprehensively explained the obscure and convo...luted OPM retirement process. Though I never met Robert, I will hire him again without any hesitation – he is simply the BEST!

SMARTEST decision you'll ever make!

I can honestly say that hiring Robert Mcgill to handle my FERS disability retirement was the smartest move I have ever made in my life. I did as much research as possible beforehand, but still, it was really daunting at first and a leap of faith to hire someone that you've never met in person, but R...obert provided a list of references all over the country and I called and spoke at length with several of them- which really put my mind at ease. I don't have enough words of praise for Mr. McGill. He was incredibly responsive- always returning calls promptly and keeping me informed throughout the whole process- but most importantly, he is an *expert* at what he does. He gets the job done and delivers RESULTS. I have no doubt that it is only because of him that I received my FERS disability retirement, and it's completely changed my life. Don't hesitate for a second. There is none better than Robert Mcgill!

The best in federal employee disability law

It took me a while to get all the required medical documents together, but I got approved in the very first try. My own family doctor was hesitant about giving me disability for my back injury. He believed that I should get a disectomy (herniated disc surgery) so I could get back to work. My psych...iatrist absolutely refused to even fill any kind of forms that had to do with disability retirement -- a receptionist in his office told me that Dr. Jones doesn’t fill these forms because that encourages people not to work (however with fers disability retirement I can and I currently work without any penalties). At the end, attorney McGill wisely persuaded my primary doctor to cooperate. McGill also explained to me that the OPM can’t require applicants to undertake a risky surgery without any warranties. In the application forms (st form 3112), he stressed the fact that my doctor had said that without that disc surgery I could not possibly go back to work and made also some sort of case-law arguments to support his legal opinion that they could not possibly force me to take a dangerous surgery that will not guarantee me to get back on my feet. So at the end, I won in the very first try.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
