Planning for nursing home care and long-term care is a daunting task, entangled by barriers and emotional issues. The cost of financing nursing home care is financially devastating to most people. David’s calling to elder law started in the late 90’s when his grandfather fell and ended up in a nursing home. David tried to find answers to basic questions: What options are available? How do I find good nursing home care? How am I going to pay for the nursing home? However, nothing was available.
Consequently, he founded the law office to help others eliminate their stress, fear and uncertainty dealing with these issues. David has devoted his “passion” and “compassion” to advising his clients through the aging process.
He has served on boards for local and national organizations and charities. He is a member of the Maryland Bar Elder Law and Estate Planning sections and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Mr. Wingate has received the honor of being voted the #1 Elder Law Attorney in his community by his peers. He has published books As You Age and the ABC’s of Elder Law and Estate Planning. Also, he has written numerous articles on aging and is a frequent speaker on ongoing issues for the Alzheimer Association, AARP, radio and television
