David Wingate is the founder of Estate & Elder Planning by David Wingate, LLC, where he is dedicated to helping individuals and families protect their loved ones, preserve their legacies, and achieve peace of mind through thoughtful estate planning. With decades of legal experience, David has guided thousands of clients in preparing wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, special needs trusts, and related estate planning documents.

David's passion for helping families began in the late 1990s when his grandfather suffered a fall and required nursing home care. Faced with questions about long-term care, asset protection, and the overwhelming financial impact of aging, David discovered how difficult it was to obtain clear guidance. That personal experience inspired him to dedicate his legal career to helping families navigate life's most important planning decisions with confidence and compassion.

Throughout his career, David has developed innovative estate planning and asset protection strategies designed to preserve family wealth while ensuring clients maintain control over their futures. His practical, client-centered approach emphasizes education, personalized planning, and long-term relationships built on trust.

David has served on the boards of numerous local and national charitable and professional organizations. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, including its Estate & Trust Law Section, and has been an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He has been recognized by his peers as the #1 Elder Law Attorney in his community and was honored with inclusion among the Top Attorneys of North America.

An accomplished author and educator, David wrote As You Age and The ABCs of Elder Law and Estate Planning. He has also authored numerous articles on estate planning and aging issues and has been a frequent speaker for organizations including the Alzheimer's Association, AARP, civic groups, and professional organizations, as well as appearing on radio and television programs discussing estate planning and elder law topics.
