Gordana Schifanelli

I went through divorce and post-divorce trial for several years. I changed six (expensive) lawyers as I felt that none of them had any strategy or skill how to fight back against my litigious ex. I'd asked so many questions and gotten so many answers...all good, I'm sure, that I was more confused about what to do and how to proceed than when I began. There were so many opinions. But when you get right down to it, a generic answer doesn't really help. I didn't get that from Ms. Schifanelli. ...She didn't shuffle me through a quick blanket answer to my questions...instead, even though we didn't have a attorney/client relationship, she outlined perfectly what I needed to do. She didn't sugar coat anything and she didn't pull any punches. That's what I like and that's what I need, someone who knows the answers to complex situations and isn't afraid to "DEAL WITH" them. I sense she has a good heart and likes to share what she knows with others...you can't learn that from any shcool. It's either in your heart or it's not. Because of her willingness to help me understand, I felt that I could approach the situation from a position of strength, rather than engage the fear factor. She even picked up the phone and called me. And when I say she called, I'm telling you she gave me details and went into specifics over the phone even though I hadn't hired her to do anything. That was very valuable to me and very giving of her. Who has time to do that for a stranger? Who would spend more than a few minutes on the phone with a stranger? Who would care? Gordana Schifanelli, that's who. She educated me about some things that I never heard from anyone else. The bottom line is, she had time for me and she didn't talk about money. That's an important factor, of course. Everyone who works has to get compensated for what they know and what they do. But it wasn't a priority in the conversation(s), which includes emails. I mean, I don't know how she does it, especially in this fast paced lifestyle undoubtedly we all have now a days. However, what I do know is I'd recommend her without a doubt to handle anything for anyone and I will hope to engage her in the near future to help me.

As a mother of a newborn child, I had so much on my plate to begin with. That was until I realized that I was going to be "battling" for custody. She assisted me and keeping emotions at bay and kept me focused on the important outcome, which was to do what was in the best interest of my child. In the end, we have settled out of court! This saves me so much time, money, missed days at work, and anxiety of the constant back and forth of things. She made this possible due to her hard work and dedication to this case. We went from the other party not wanting to agree to anything, to settling with a 50/50 split of custody, the other party dropping all child support I would have to pay, 50% of all costs for our son, and extras I wanted that they were not willing to give at first! I truly hope that no one I know has to go through custody, but if anyone does, I would without a doubt recommend Schifanelli and Associates in a heartbeat!!! Thank you for making what seemed like such a scary, difficult situation into such a success in terms of providing myself and my son with what is best for him.

I had some questions about the QDRO document and court order process which I posted to Avvo. Ms. Schifanelli was the first to answer. So I followed up by email that night and via phone the next day.
