Brian David Ketterer

Brian Ketterer, a partner in the firm, is a trial attorney who focuses his practice on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation.

Currently, Mr. Ketterer serves as co-chair of the science and expert committee for the GranuFlo litigation. Additionally, Mr. Ketterer is also spearheading the efforts to recruit and develop liability and regulatory experts for the GranuFlo cases. Mr. Ketterer is also involved in similar efforts for both the Lipitor and Pradaxa cases currently being litigated.

Mr. Ketterer is also frequently invited as a speaker at Mass Torts Made Perfect and American Association for Justice (AAJ) educational conferences to share his knowledge and expertise in the specific areas of science, causation, expert development and regulatory matters. Numerous law firms from across the country seek out Mr. Ketterer’s expertise to assist with case development and screening their cases.

Prior to becoming a civil attorney, Mr. Ketterer was an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia where he prosecuted hundreds of trials during his tenure at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office.

Before joining Janet, Jenner & Suggs, Mr. Ketterer was the Managing Attorney of the Philadelphia office for a successful national plaintiff’s firm. Mr. Ketterer was co-counsel in the Simon v. Wyeth hormone therapy case in the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia County and successfully obtained a verdict of $1.5 million. Following the Simon verdict, Mr. Ketterer was also co-counsel in the Scroggin v. Wyeth et al. hormone therapy trial in the MDL in the Western District of Arkansas which resulted in a $2.7 million compensatory judgment and over $22 million in punitive damages awarded.

Brian has been honored by his peers by being named one of the 100 Best Trial Lawyers in the State of Maryland by the National Trial Lawyer’s Association.

He is admitted before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the Eastern/Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Association of Justice (AAJ), The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer’s Association and the National Trial Lawyer’s Association.
