Non compete

Non compete’s are the worst! Jan and his team got me through this nightmare with ease! They worked hard to get me back to work with diligence and exceeded all of my expectations. Jan and Julia took the time to really get the facts and had the knowledge and expertise to handle this for me in a timely ...manner. If you have a boss that wants to take your career, call Jan, he will fight for you and get you back to work. Call now!

Film Director

I can’t recommend Jan Berlage highly enough. His skill as an attorney and integrity as a human being were on full display in my case. His knowledge of copyright law helped protect my intellectual property. His defense in a related civil matter resulted in a convincing win at trial.

Exceptional Attorney

Jan Berlage has been an exceptional attorney to work with. I found his standards to be set at the highest level and his morals to be impeccable. His comprehensive knowledge of IP law matched with his tenacious drive helped us navigate through the process of a federal copyright lawsuit and come out ...on top. He expects top rate results from everyone around him and always gave us 100%. His ability to see the big picture, push through hurdles, and stay on task absolutely saved us time, energy and money throughout the process. I firmly believe that Jan’s expertise in copyright law, years of practical experience in the courtroom and a true understanding of what it takes to get through a federal copyright lawsuit helped us win our case. Jan Berlage is a real find for anyone needing a seasoned attorney to represent them. My husband and I have forged a great relationship with Jan and I would not hesitate for a second to use him again for any other legal matters I may have.

Solid Legal Advice - Horse Farm

Our horse business (show training, riding lessons, breeding) was failing due the recession beginning in 2008, and we faced the possibility of bankruptcy and foreclosure, By April of 2010 we had exhausted our efforts to satisfy our creditors and felt we needed a bankruptcy attorney, A attorney friend... in the horse business recommended Jan Berlage to help with our financial dilemma. Jon had co-authored a book on Equine legal matters so we felt we talked the same language. Jan has worked with us since then and continues even now, as we satisfy creditors and move on with our lives. Jon provided sound legal advice, reviewed farm creditor documents, gave advice, prepared letters and emails to creditors, contacted them by phone, argued on our behalf, and in general, keep our best interest in the forefront. In every case, Jon acted professionally, responsive to phone calls and emails, our requests to contact creditors, review documents, and always provided encouragement during a very difficult time for us. I believe that because of Jon's efforts, the farm mortgage holder agreed to a farm sale that avoided foreclosure, which enabled us to avoid bankruptcy. I can recommend Jan Berlage without reservation.
