Excellent Attorney with wonderful insight and excellent people skills
My Husband and I recently retained Ms. Dement-Carpenter to handle a very serious criminal matter on behalf of my 16 year old son who was falsely charged with serious criminal charges, with the possibility that it could have been waived to adult court for jail time due to the nature of the charges. ...

Saved Me Millions
Went to Ms. Dement-Carpenter after my spouse coerced me into signing an unfavorable Agreement while he hid funds. Ms. Dement-Carpenter was able to untangle the agreement through her aggressive, but necessary legal tactics and find over $1 million dollars hidden in retirement assets. I received my ...

Not Recommended - Rude and Dismissive
Ms. Carpenter was neither responsive nor informative. She did not keep me apprised of the status of my case, and went a documented 35 consecutive days without contacting me despite numerous attempts to reach her. When I attempted to raise my concerns with her, she became unduly aggressive and rude. I...
In this particular case, this client received everything he wanted in this divorce and custody matter for a fraction of the cost of all other litigators, including a deduction in his bill and write offs which amounted to 1/2 to 1/3 of his bill. There was never a time that he was not advised of his case for over 35 days --and he was shown proof via email that he was contacted. There was a short period after the case was settled that he didn't get in touch with me - but he knew the details of the settlement that was highly favorable to him. The client indicated to me in his final meeting that he "could not have gotten such a good result without me". However, right after he said that he said he wanted a refund when it seemed to him after the case was successfully handled that he could have done it all himself. He wrote this review in retaliation when I didn't give him some of the very small retainer fee back -- in spite of his savings and the write offs on his bill. It is unfortunate and somewhat appalling that AVVO did not investigate this review based upon my specific request or make him prove his allegations of unethical behavior pursuant to AVVO's own guidelines-- and very much ignored my attempts to disprove the review. Very odd. I was never rude to this client, even under this circumstance. I was astonished that he would behave in this manner when he got everything he wanted in a settlement based upon my representation and his bill in total was a mere fraction what most attorneys charge up front as an initial retainer.

Aggressive, Honest and Trustworthy
I hired Ms. Dement-Carpenter to prepare a separation agreement for me and my husband. In spite of all the complex, financial and property issues, as well as custody issues, Ms. Dement-Carpenter was able to help us reach an agreement at a fraction of the cost of litigation. She was courteous and profe...

Absolute pleasure to work with
My wife and I chose Pamela to mediate our separation. By no fault of Pamela's, we were unable to come to an acceptable agreement. My only regret is that I could not continue on with her being my personal legal representative. She was incredibly caring and thoughtful to us both during an extremely dif...
"I had a tricky divorce case with Pam not long ago. She handled the case in a professional manner and advocated for her client's rights. Pam's mediation training allows her to see settlement opportunities in cases, but she also has a lot of litigation experience if the case needs to go to trial. I endorse her for family law and mediation."
"Pam is a superb attorney who is at the top of her game. She is a tenacious trial attorney at all court levels, including appeals, and her legal writing is excellent. She has the innate ability to cut through the emotions of a case and is able to secure excellent outcomes for her clients, while always being cognizant of cost and value. She also excels as a mediator. If you have a domestic relations or other litigation matter in Annapolis or anywhere in Maryland, I highly recommend her."
