Justin has litigated and won cases at state district and circuit courts, appellate courts, administrative courts, and federal courts throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Justin has delivered favorable results for his civil and criminal clients through both pre-suit representation as well as trial victories.
Prior to law school, Justin studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina and obtained his B.B.A from Hofstra University. He earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and then began his law career in the courtroom as an Assistant Public Defender representing clients on charges ranging from minor misdemeanors to serious felonies that carried possible life sentences. Justin also worked on a federal grant involving post-conviction DNA testing, for The Innocence Project, a foundation that attempts to free the wrongly convicted.
Justin was previously in private practice in Baltimore focusing on criminal, civil, and family law litigation matters, and was senior litigation counsel for a national insurance company specializing in the entertainment and hospitality industries. He was a founding partner of Timmerman, Beaulieu, Hinkle & Esworthy LLC law firm in 2014, where he spent over 8 years focusing on criminal, civil, administrative and business law.
In addition to handling criminal, civil, administrative and business law matters, Justin is using his knowledge and experience to include Estate Planning to his practice. Justin guides his clients and their families through the estate planning process to protect their wealth and legacy for future generations while also minimizing court intervention upon a loved ones passing.
Justin is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
In recognition of his accomplishments, Martindale-Hubbell awarded Justin its AV Peer-Review Rating, the highest rating available. In addition, he has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in Criminal Defense and a Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney under 40 in the State of Maryland by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys, an organization devoted to recognizing the top criminal defense attorneys in the nation.

Excellent Attorney
Justin has represented me for two speeding tickets now. He got me a PBJ on one and a Not Guilty on the other. He explained the entire process to me, advised me on what to do, and kept me well informed on the status of my case. Since I received no points on either violation, I couldn't be happier. I s...

"Justin Esworthy demonstrates the best parts of our profession--exacting knowledge and application of law and deep and abiding interest in his clients. Indeed, one does not encounter these combined traits in an attorney too often. Clearly, billable hours and profit margins are not why Justin entered the noble profession."
