I met attorney Van Bergen at a court house. My son was found with heroin and was driving. My son did not have any attorney and asked the court to move the court date and I saw her with someone else and asked her to answer some questions and she did. We met with her for free. She was very nice and... did not judge me or my son. She got him in some classes and helped him get a little straight so when we went back to court the judge was nicer. He was put on probation but does not have a guilty and I am very happy. She gave us numbers of rehabs and half way houses and seemed to care. She still always answers when I call her cell and ask questions - i recommend her.

dishonest! stole my retainer $2500, only showed up to court one time, refused to refund , never provided a bill, in court she refused to plea not guilty and mis explained a no consent plea and claimed it will not show up on my record, this lady is a crook and not trustworthy she should not be allowed... to practice law!

I hired Deborah about 6 years ago - financial issues. She is very reasonable priced as far as good lawyers go. She is down to earth and non-judgemental. I just contacted her recently on a non-related issue. Consultation was no charge and it is like talking to an old friend. She is very professio...nal in court. She is punctual and keeps you informed on what is happening with your case. Her staff is also friendly and supportive. I would recommend her to anyone. Deborah is the Best!

I felt like I was rushed through our entire court process. As Mrs. Van Bergen did not take what I wanted in account or hear my side of the case, instead she was more focused on what my wife attorney has to say and getting the case over with. and took days to returne my calls or addressed my concerns.... . she gives the impression that she is a very knowledgeable lawyer, however she never showed real proof of this to me either. She has failed to present my side of the case, and did not explain reason of why should I plea no contest, but the real reason is she will not fight for you. in addition to being very inexperienced attorney, she doesnt know how to represent herself amongst attorneys and infront of the court ,and charges too much for her lack of experience. in addition she failed to provide detailed billing and failed to return unearned portion of the advance retainer. bottom line is: her office is only open day a week friday, the rest of the days you have an answering machine to speak to, she will not give you any other method of communication, she has made me plea to no contest when I have strong case built against my wife.
