Frustrated and Disappointed

I've consulted with Walter Ty about a case that, initially, he said was favorable to win. That was the $50 consultation day. Afterwards, contacting him was hard -- it took several calls just to receive one phone call back. He said he needed to take care of other cases and that he works without a f...ront desk personnel. Fine, I get that. What I do not get is over the course of one month, the numerous times to try to contact Walter Ty was near impossible. Intentional or not, he does not get back to you on a timely manner. I felt cheated and it was a complete waste of my time and effort. All in all, I needed to hire a different attorney for this case due to lack of communication and abandonment by Walter Ty. If he didn't want to proceed, he could have simply stated so. Thank you.

Since this is an anonymous review, I cannot respond specifically. The writer claims that my opinion was the case was "favorable to win." Winning cases equal good income. I doubt I would have not called him/her back timely. To the writer, if you want to send me a private email, or better yet, give me a call, I would be happy to discuss your concern. My practice is to try and return calls within 24 hours, whether it is a client or prospective client.

Walter Ty is the attorney you want.

As an attorney, like many others, I specialize my practice. So when I found myself in need of an exceptionally-skilled and level-headed litigator to handle a family matter for me (something about which I know very little), in a state I do not practice, I asked around. A trusted colleague introduced m...e to Walter Ty, who didn't even blink at the black-hole disaster of a case I was presenting. He listened to everything I said, and made sure he knew the complexities and nuances of my never-ending case. He immediately had a plan. And a plan B, just in case. (Plan B is vital.) And while he never had to employ them, I'm certain he had Plans C-Z also, waiting to put them into action. Walter took my calls on days off, fielded emergency emails on holidays, filed every motion brilliantly and timely, and perhaps most importantly: he listened. So many attorneys want to put a case into a box, or under a header, and they just don't care enough about the individual and prefer a boilerplate response. Walter Ty is not that attorney. For someone as sought-after as he is, and whose invoices actually reflect reasonable, affordable numbers (not an inconsequential consideration when you need an attorney), you might think you're his most important client. And, while he's drafting your brief, talking you off of a ledge, or guiding you through an arduous and unnecessary deposition, you are. Walter's style is flexible. He has acted as a bulldog litigator when its been warrented, a reasonable mediator at other times, a font of knowledge on the rules of law, and trusted counsel; as the case enters different phases of adversity, Walter turns up the heat as needed. This is so critical because his ability to read the other side translates into victories and many saved dollars. Many attorneys will put the pedal to the floor, all the time, at all costs, just to drag matters out and bill bigger invoices. Walter is not like that. He will act in your best interest, every time. And he will be honest with you - which of your claims are winnable, which you should discard - and he will be spot-on in that decision-making. After many years, I trust his judgment above that of any attorney I've ever met. The bottom line is that he knows what he's doing. He's efficient, tireless, effective, astute, brilliant, fast, and... genuine. This is the guy you want in your corner. It's probably true that no one wants a lawyer until they need one, and in the case of Walter Ty, once you realize you need one, this is the one you want.
