Mindy Felinton is passionate about helping people, their loved ones and their pets with the complexity of legal issues facing an aging population. She has over 30 years of extensive legal experience in the areas of Medicaid planning, long-term care planning, estate planning, asset protection, revocable living trusts, last wills and testament, powers of attorney, health care proxy, nursing home law, special needs trusts, guardianships, elder law and pet trusts. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Maryland State Bar Association Estates and Trusts Section and Elder Law Section, The Florida Bar Trusts and Real Property Section and Elder Law Section.

Furthermore, she works closely with family members, domestic partners and others to facilitate a smooth transition for their loved one.
Prior to her focus on Elder Law and Estate Planning, Ms. Felinton was a Florida Assistant State Attorney and special prosecutor. Many of the animal abuse cases she handled have been featured on television, radio and in the international press.
Ms. Felinton gives back to the community by offering pro bono legal services to assist local charitable organizations. She volunteers with House with a Heart, a senior Hospice for dogs and cats. She also volunteers with The Senior Connection and makes weekly visits to a nursing home with her “two kids” dogs, Precious and Pumpkin, to the delight of residents. Ms. Felinton serves as Vice President of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and volunteers with Montgomery County Hospice on its Planned Giving committee. She has also served as Co-Chair for GROWS (Grass Roots Organization for the Welfare of Seniors). In addition to her charitable and volunteer work, Ms. Felinton lectures at the University of Baltimore Law School.
