I had the pleasure of obtaining Ms. Stewart through a program to help me deal with a custody case. She had literally 2 days to look over my case before we had virtual court. The professionalism that she displayed was uncanny. She always stayed onto of correspondence between myself and other counsel. ...Even though I met in a virtual setting two days before court she worked tirelessly by keeping me inform via text, email, or just a simple phone call to ease my worries. At that point I knew she was a good lawyer, but it intensified when we went to our scheduling conference and she cut that lawyer up with her words with a big ole smile on her face and we walked away feeling vindicated. Sheila knew what I needed without asking me in that hearing actually I don’t even remember talking because she took care of everything. When I knew she was a phenomenal lawyer is when we went to the mediation part of the custody case and I got to see her in action. She fought so hard and did it with such grace and a smile. The other counsel was being unreasonable and Sheila saw that and made the mediator aware. That counsel was very upset and tried to bombard Ms. Stewart with unnecessary paperwork that can prolong this case, but Ms. Stewart was very professional and lead with facts. The other counsel tried to lead with a scare technique, but Ms. Sheila Stewart insured me we have the burden of proof on our side and we will prevail hopefully sooner than later as these custody cases can drag on. One of the many things I want to point out that set aside Ms. Stewart from the rest is doing mediation the guidelines are set and if not followed I don’t have to go above and beyond, so one specific guideline was set up to call the kids on the landline from 7:30 pm to 7:45pm and if he miss the call oh well. So here is where the exceptional part comes in, I text Sheila to inform her that he missed his designated call just to put it on record, but Ms. Stewart advise me to reach out via text to remind of the missed call and just like that 7 months of court cases no visits turned into a 4 hour conversation with myself and his kids and him ultimately giving me what I wanted in the custody case. During that conversation he did mention how my lawyer is always smiling but coming forward his neck in a professional way. Sheila Stewart is a firecracker and definitely someone you would want on your side. I know having a lawyer is a service and it’s not personal, but while working with Sheila Stewart she made me feel like she always had my best interest at heart. I feel you need to have more of a personal and professional Relationship with someone who could be fighting the biggest fight of your life; your kids well being. I don’t want to put her in the custody case box because she can fight any case with the same grace, professionalism, and that firecracker spirit you need to win a case. I was very emotional during this case and often apologized for my emotions, but she ensured me I have know need to apologize because she works for me and we are going to get the best results for my family and NEVER made me feel less than due to my emotional state.
