Absolute Superstar!

I found myself needing a divorce lawyer after being served separation paperwork from my spouse. Shelly and her team were able to do an initial consultation within a day, and truly took the time to understand the complex issues surrounding my case. Shelly and her team have worked TIRELESSLY through ...this entire process to ensure that my rights as a father were preserved and protected. I truly owe this law firm my everything, as they have advocated for me and my children as if we were family. Being a father in divorce court is no longer the doom sentence that it once was, and the entire team did everything within their power to make sure my rights were protected. Ultimately, the final outcome of my case exceeded my expectations. I attended countless mediation sessions, hearings, and ultimately a custody trial. Shelly and Jessica both were very effective at communicating and guiding me through this entire process, and I am so grateful to have them by my side for every step of the way. Divorce truly brings out the worst in people, and having absolute faith in your legal team is a must. Shelly and her team delivered time and time again. The only reason I gave 5 stars is because there isn’t 6. Thank you!!

Phenomenal Advocate

My experience with the Law Office of Shelly Ingram was nothing short of phenomenal. As an attorney myself, I had very exacting standards when it came to who would assist me with my custody dispute and Jessica Gillespie met every one of them. I went to a number of consultations before I sat down with... Ms. Gillespie. However, after one meeting, my search was over. I was looking for an attorney who would be responsive to me. I never had a problem communicating with Ms. Gillespie or anyone else at the firm via telephone, email, video conference, or in-person. I was also looking for someone who felt like they were truly advocating for me but would still be willing to pushback on things I was clearly wrong about. I know from experience that is an incredibly difficult needle to thread, but Ms. Gillespie did it perfectly. Even when disagreeing with me, it always felt like she was on my side, offering suggestions rather than criticisms, and constantly keeping my wishes and interests at the forefront of any plans. Though I do not practice family law, I probably knew enough to make myself a pain to work with. That old adage that doctors don’t make good patients probably applies to lawyers too – attorneys usually do not make good clients. Despite that, I never had any issues getting in contact with Ms. Gillespie or someone else at her firm. Every interaction was professional and friendly. Even if she did not have an answer to a question I had, which was rare, she was able to consult with a colleague and get back to me right away. Everyone was always pleasant and responsive. They were able to take one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life and at least make it manageable. The custody agreement Ms. Gillespie managed to negotiate was far better than I expected given the circumstances. Even the most negative aspects were mitigated heavily due to suggestions Ms. Gillespie had.

Excellent Service from Shelly Ingram

After experiencing a contentious divorce in which I had a number of lawyers, who produced less than stellar results, I was somewhat leery of hiring another divorce attorney. However, faced with needing to affect a change in my son's custody situation in a very short period of time, I had no real cho...ice. After doing some research and receiving a recommendation from another firm I contacted Shelly Ingram. From the initial meeting, Shelly seemed different than the other attorneys' I had worked with before. First, she listened and offered potential options of how to approach the case, laying out both the pros and cons of the approaches, and advising realistically of the chances for success. I also found her office staff to be very helpful throughout my case in explaining things and also helping me learn to use some of the tools they now employ in their practice. Bottomline, Shelly pushed the case through, was able to get an expedited hearing scheduled, and maneuvered my typically very combative ex-husband into settling the matter without even going to court! All in all, Shelly was a rock star, I only wish I had met her years ago and hired her when I was getting divorced originally! I would highly recommend Shelly to anyone who needs an attorney to handle a family law matter.

Highly recommend

Shelly and her team are great to work with. I highly recommend them. Shelly was my lawyer for my custody case 6-7 years ago, she helped me again and I was able to get the complaint dismissed. She is very intelligent and easy to work with. Child custody is never an easy thing to deal with in court but... she made me feel comfortable and at ease.

Shelly was prepared, organized, persuasive and passionate about my position

Divorce is an emotionally charged event. There is no way around it. In my case the process took about two years. And from our initial meeting through the final decision, Shelly Ingram was a consistent and knowledgeable advocate. Ms. Ingram’s assessment of my case and the probability of going to tri...al was “spot on”. Though all attempts to negotiate outside of court were unsuccessful, Shelly and her team prepared me for each step of the process. Looking back I think I needed quite a bit of hand holding. In the midst of my trepidation, Shelly was upfront and realistic about the work necessary to move through court requests, mediation, settlement agreements/negotiations, custody agreements, and ultimately trial. Shelly’s team collaborated with other professional partners to unearth undisclosed information while working with me to create reasonable settlement proposals which were the core of the final settlement. The months of data gathering, calls, zooms, and data uploads were definitely unpleasant. However as the saying goes, “Planning Prevents Poor Performance”. When it was time for trial, the benefits of the planning and preparation were evident. I felt prepared for opposing counsel’s tactics and I knew what to expect each day of trial. In the courtroom, Shelly was prepared, organized, persuasive and passionate about my position. Now that the court has issued the divorce decree, I ultimately feel that I was represented well and I would recommend Shelly Ingram to anyone in need of this sort of representation.
