Jennifer Lucille Muskus

When I met Jennifer in 2009 it was under fairly extreme circumstances. My husband had intentionally abandoned me and, with the assistance of my former in-laws, he took my child and everything of value from our home only weeks after I got a job. I came home to a mostly empty house and a note on the ...counter. Not only had he transferred everyone (and everything) into another home, all three individuals left the state with my (at the time) infant in tow. The situation did not allow a great amount of time for response, and I didn't know how to react because I had never been exposed to that type of radical, malicious behavior. I had no where to turn and no one that would help. I had separated from the military to have my child. Though we lived on a military installation, the military would not provide any assistance because he was still serving. I was told our case was to be dealt with via private sector. To make matters worse 911 would not respond because we lived on base. They informed me that the base was not their jurisdiction. My spouse had also come between my family members and I. They believed he was a good man, so I was in a catch 22. After calling every local authority/agency for several days while trying to retain composure at my new job, I found Jennifer by the grace of G-d through a women's help hotline. I wasn't able to eat or sleep and was in terrible condition when we met. We took things one day at a time though and fought through the most strenuous of circumstances. Over the years, my ex and his parents have made attempts at every turn to degrade my character and ruin my integrity in an effort to remove my child from my care. And each time, Jennifer has given sound advice on how to react to their antagonistic mannerisms. She listened when I was full of anxiety, empathized when I was fearful, and she was my rock when, many times, no one else was willing and/or able to offer solid support. Jennifer and I have worked together since 2009 and from day one she has been genuine and supportive. Without her expertise and willingness to act quickly my former spouse would have succeeded in taking my child and disappearing to another state for more than just a short amount of time. In the past 6+ years we have learned many lessons together about the legal system, peoples' character (or lack thereof), the military and Federal government, support systems and what to do when they fail, as well as how we both respond to excessive amounts of stress. I believe in Jennifer so much that, even though my child and I moved to a neighboring state years ago to be close to work, I still travel back to Maryland to do court procedures. My case will be in the legal system for the foreseeable future and the only thing I know for certain is the fact that I do not want anyone else by my side. Jennifer has proven herself to be fair, to play by the rules (especially when the opposing party vehemently chooses not to follow a moral high ground), and she has time after time shown she is loyal and caring, and if that isn't great customer service in a field as difficult as the legal system, I don't know what is.

Once I got an appointment I met with Jennifer Muskus. After that initial meeting with her, I knew she was "Th...e One and Only" divorce attorney I had to meet. Jennifer Muskus was very professional, knowledgeable and likable, which all were very important to me. From day one Jennifer Muskus kept me informed of every aspect of my case, whether it was an important detail or just to keep me posted on what she was doing. It seemed as though I was her most important client. My divorce process started in August 2013 from the first meeting until the divorce court date June 2014. During that time frame Jennifer Muskus prepared my case as if I had a billion dollar law suit. She is diligent and I could see the fire and desire within her to win this case for me. During the actual trial date in June 2014, Jennifer Muskus continued to research laws up until the trial began. This was my first time ever having to retain an attorney. In watching her in the courtroom during the trial was like watching a work of art live. She was very intense, attentive and always seemed to be a step ahead of the opposition. When the case was over and all was said and done, the judge ruled in my favor owing my ex wife $0.00. I attribute everything first to God, and then to Jennifer Muskus for what was my "Super Bowl Championship". Eight months has passed, and Jennifer continues to reach out to me inquiring about my life status. I am grateful for her parents that had her and her desire to complete law school. After reading her reviews chose to retain her but as the case grew more complex her level of interest seemed to dissipate. The day in court was exaggerative as we were there for over 8 hours going back and forth with a proposed settlement from the other party which we were never made aware could take... place. To date the case is not completely settled as the other party did not hold up to their end of the deal and Ms. Muskus has failed to to make them do so. Overall, not impressed as we expected the attorney to lay out all potential options and communicate both the aforementioned along with potential outcomes and that did not take place. Communication needs to be improved.

Ms. Muskus is an excellent attorney. She is extremely insightful, knowledgeable and very thorough in all aspects of our interactions, and in helping me to make the best decisions for my situation. I would highly recommend Jennifer to anyone in need of an attorney who really knows the law, and... how to best navigate the legal system.
