Dionne A. Hopkins

Dionne is admitted to practice in the Court of Appeals of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Alliance for Black Women Attorneys of Maryland, Inc.

Before joining The Griffin Firm, PLLC, Dionne served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sylvester B. Cox, Jr. at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. She also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael W. Reed at the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.

Dionne received her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she was a student attorney in the Civil Advocacy Clinic. She represented individuals in actions against the Social Security Administration and counseled clients seeking record expungements of prior convictions.

Dionne was also one of eight students’ hand-selected for the Fannie Angelos Scholar Program, which recruits talented students from HBCUs to attend UB Law.

Merging her passion for the law and her faith, Dionne served as an extern at Christian Legal Aid of the District of Columbia. There, she assisted clients in family law cases, constructed and co-taught legal presentations to residents at DC’s Central Union Men’s Mission and Family Ministry Center.

Dionne received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University. While in college, Dionne became a member of Spelman College’s Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Inc.

In addition to practicing law, Dionne takes every opportunity to offer personal, professional, and spiritual mentorship in her community. She currently serves as the Dance Ministry Leader at Christian Life Center in Belcamp, Maryland. She also leads Christian Life Center’s Singles Women’s Ministry. Moreover, she mentors young legal professionals in her law school’s Black Law Students Association and the Fannie Angelos Scholar Program. In her spare time, she also serves as a biblical teacher to her colleagues.
