also known as James E. Farmer
Mr. Farmer received a JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his undergraduate program, he studied abroad at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Mr. Farmer graduated law school a semester early and, as part of his legal education, excelled in the Comparative Law program at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
He has also completed a comprehensive training course in mediation training and earned a mediation certificate. In 2014, he was named to Maryland's Outstanding Young Lawyers, and he was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers in 2012 through 2014. In 2013, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA) honored Mr. Farmer as a Nationally Ranked Top 10 Personal Injury Attorney under the age of 40. He was selected to the 2014 and 2015 “Maryland Rising Stars” list by Super Lawyers Magazine, which comes as a result of an intensive selection process requiring third-party validation of accomplishments and trail results.
He has also headlined “Southern Maryland Women's Magazine.” The Charles County Bar Association honored Mr. Farmer in December 2013 with an award for his service to the legal community, recognizing his “Exemplification of the Values of Personal Integrity, Competence and Civility.” The award was based on his legal work and specifically his pro-bono volunteer work with multiple organizations, to include the Family Recovery Court Program.

Strongly regret hiring James E. Farmer
I was referred to James E. Farmer by a close friend who spoke very highly of him. At the consultation, I found him to be extremely condescending and impersonal. He gave me a worst case scenario and implied that he basically couldn't do much to help my case. I found his pricing to be incredibly inflat...
Most of this review is utterly false. Unfortunately, this client made some mistakes before seeing me, which included trying to represent himself, making incriminating statements to the Judge, among other things. He expected a result which was not possible (based on his previous record and what he had already done in this case). I was honest in my evaluation with him from the outset, making it very clear that I could not undo some of the things he had already done. Prior to Court, he actually complimented my demeanor, saying he could see why his friend spoke so highly of me. We spoke in detail about all options outside the courtroom. The victim in his case was an off duty police officer, who suffered a fractured arm and required plates and screws to be permanently adhered to his arm. This victim's statement to the Judge was compelling. I was able to minimize the damage by getting the State to reduce his charges from what he had previously pleaded to. The client then made statements that further harmed him, and which were not what we had discussed. This did shock me somewhat, to the point that I had to cut him off to prevent him from hurting himself even more. I am never happy to have a client that is not fully satisfied, but there was little I could do to get through to this particular client. After his sentencing, his family called me because of a Warrant he had out in another state. I helped them, free of charge, to locate an attorney in that state and spoke with him about the facts of our case. I found the client to be very "hot and cold" throughout the process, for lack of a better term. I wish him the best and hope that he is able to put all of these legal issues behind him.

Awesome DUI Attorney
I hired James E. Farmer to represent me for a DUI, which unfortunately, was not my first or second offense. Mr. Farmer worked aggressively with the State's Attorney to reach a deal that was much, much better than I could have ever anticipated. The firm also handled my MVA hearing, which allowed me ...
