Rec'd a prompt call after inquiry; No opportunity given for consultation

I would have appreciated, at the very least, an opportunity for a consultation. Mr. Bullock presented, via phone, himself as a very knowledgeable & experienced attorney regarding the complicated & often urgent matters of elder, disability, etc. legal issues. Ultimately, & most unfortunately, I rec'...d a final email stating Mr. Bullock & his colleagues of his firm had "a case load which was too heavy", thus they were too busy to help me after I spoke twice, briefly, w/Mr Bullock. However, prior to that email, I did receive an initial phone call from Mr. Bullock during which he was very pressed for time, but explained that he had a wealth of experience with Guardianship legal matters (my husband, at only age 56, rec'd diagnosis for a degenerative neurological disease, which, in all likelihood, will result in a final diagnosis of Parkinsons -- In a short period of time, he is unable to manage his affairs - he's a small business owner; he has an array of symptoms - worst is that he's become highly agitated toward our son & I, as well as his own physicians. On the night Mr. Bullock first called, I actually had our son & I leave our home to stay at a local hotel b/c we so desperately had to get a brief break from my husband's severe agitated disposition). Mr. Bullock told me during that initial brief call, in a matter of minutes, my case was urgent (I agreed!) & I needed a "war chest" of $10k to realistically proceed further. Apparently he called later that same evening - I regret I missed his call (I was still at a hotel w/our young son) & then missed his call a 2nd time the next day, just as we returned home. It was an immensely chaotic time of that particular day & with no family in proximity, I was attempting to manage all matters, both business & personal, alone. I spoke with his colleague by phone later in the sameweek; she, too, was quite knowledgeable, as well as empathetic to the situation. She recommended we begin w/a consultation & offered a date/time. During that call, I expressed my apologies for missing Mr Bullocks call - I certainly îmeant no disrespect to him, I was simply trying to manage & control our affairs & needs of our son + was very concerned about my husband. Upon calling to confirm the consultation on the following day, I spoke w/Mr. Bullock --he wanted to know if I had the "war chest" of n $10k available. I explained to him my conversation with his partner & her advice we meet for a consult. I concurred as I couldn't & wouldn't committ over the phone, without having ever met him & had more of a discussion regarding plans for my husband, to a $10k commitment, which had started to feel as if it had become the underlying focus of the matter. I, too, am familiar with guardianship matters...Currently, I am my mothers legal guardian & was also the guardian of my late grandmother...I managed both of these roles from out of state. In both cases, I consulted with the elder care law attorney prior to presuming any long range planning. In conclusion, the next day I rec'd an email stating the firm was to inundated with other case loads & it would be best if I contact a different firm.

Fails to carry through on his promises

Mr. Bullock came recommended by another attorney. I therefore contacted his office regarding a POA breach of responsibility matter. I was able to talk to Mr. Bullock for at least 20-30 minutes, for free, over the phone, and I was initially impressed with his passion and concern for my case. He said h...e would have his secretary/assistant send me paperwork so that I could proceed to hire him and use his services. A $750 consultation was suggested. I said I was interested in proceeding. Days passed, then weeks, then months passed and nothing was ever sent to me. 4+ months later, I decided to pick up the phone and try again. This time, he again gave me 15+ minutes of his time, and I brought up his failed promise and he apologized and said he'd send the client agreement, but the consultation had now been raised to $1200+. I again agreed to the terms. But again, nothing ever arrived in the mail. Days passed, weeks passed, months passed and nothing arrived. Months later, Mr. Bullock's new assistant called and asked if I still needed help. She said she was going through Mr. Bullock's "things" and found that I had called and wanted to know if Mr. Bullock's services were still needed? I told her the above story and I said, "forget it." I can't trust a lawyer who breaks his promise twice. It appears that Mr. Bullock is overwhelmed with work and disorganized, based upon my experience.
