Wow! Just got off the phone with Ms. Axsmith, and recieved a fantastically helpful and generous consultation, without charge. I'm a DC landlord, and had questions about a whole bunch of things. Flood damage, (not) charging rent when the place is a wreck and under construction, leases, tenants gi...ving notice, me giving notice, advance rent, and understanding DC law and the courts. She made time for all of this, for free, enlightened me with clear ideas and directions, and wished me well--no hard sell for a fee consultation or service to buy from her. Axsmith gets it--help people if you can, and charge them when they need the really complicated stuff. And I feel confident that I can visit her for that paid help if I need it, and receive the same courteous, thoughtful professionalism I benefitted from today.
