For nearly 35 years, I have been a general business litigator, with substantial experience in jury trials, bench trials and all forms of alternate dispute resolution. Over the years, I have also developed considerable experience in handling complex estate disputes and legal malpractice cases and have extensive experience in dealing with disputes arising out of M&A activity and commercial contracts. My cases have often involved extensive use of expert witnesses, particularly those involving business valuation, value of services and other complex economic issues.
Apart from litigation, I have also negotiated mergers and acquisitions, documented complex real estate financing ventures and drafted a great many contracts. For approximately four years, while a partner at a large multinational law firm, I also acted as outside general counsel for a mid-sized government contractor (approximately $500 million dollars in annual sales), including the provision of advice on all aspects of its business operations.
With the Butzel Long platform, my colleagues and I are capable of efficiently handling all types of cases, from multi-district class actions involving billions of dollars to relatively small contract disputes.

Lets face it, the world of business is complex and as a general rule business owners simply can't afford to trust lawyers. I met him because I did the leg work to ask other attorneys. At the time I needed a lion who was willing and able to litigate and win but smart enough settle. These are the quali...

Jack Wuerker understands the big picture. It is not enough to understand you. He makes it his business to understand the opposing counsel and the counsel's client. Jack assidously does his homework. He is prepared whether it is a client meeting, a deposition, a trial or any form of client support. I ...

I have known Jack Wuerker since 1998 when we met at his practice, Wuerker & Triarhos, to work on a plan to distribute stock in our small corporation to key employees. This effort resulted in an equitable and satisfactory distribution of stock, a shareholders agreement and a shareholders management ag...
"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Jack for 15 plus years. He is a former litigation partner with me at Squire Sanders, we have worked on many cases together both while he was with Squire Sanders and after he left and Jack is a good friend. Jack is an excellent lawyer and outstanding business litigation lawyer. Jack is very bright and has an MBA from University of Michigan as well as his law degree. He has considerable experience in representing businesses in business litigation and has done quite well in his cases. He works very hard in preparing his cases, is always well prepared both in and out of court, he writes very well and argues well in court. While Jack is professional in all his dealings with lawyers, judges and clients. he knows how to be quite firm when he wants to be and needs to be. He is in all respects a skilled advocate."
