Wade graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, in 1979. He earned his law degree from George Mason University Law School in 1984. Wade earned a graduate certificate in Estate Planning from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2007.

During the early part of his legal career, Wade concentrated his practice in civil litigation. Over time, he decided to leave the large firm he worked for and develop a practice that would let him work with families to meet their legal needs and give him more time to spend with his own family. Wade’s practice is known as the Delaware Elder Law Center. Wade is a member of WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, which are national organizations of trusts and estates attorneys and other legal, tax and business professionals who design sophisticated planning techniques for individuals and families.
