Very Good Attorney

I was referred to Mr Pratcher and I’m so happy I was. He was very good with not only explaining things to me from the beginning but he was very hands on. Whenever there was a problem with anything he was on top of it and I never had a problem getting in touch with him. He always returned my calls in ...a timely manner. Workman’s comp is a long drawn out process and you need a lawyer to guide you through and that’s what he did for me. I was not disappointed. He did a great job. I’d definitely recommend

Professional, Diligent and Responsive Attorney

A couple years back, I was rear-ended by another motorist. I began to experience pain (neck and back) immediately following the MVA, however, did not seek medical treatment the same day. Nevertheless, I sought treatment the following day because the pain had not subsided. Per my initial doctor's vis...it I was referred for X-rays and a MRI. Since I had been referred for the following images, I assumed I had suffered physical damage as a result of the MVA so I immediately searched my phone for injury lawyers in Delaware. I came across Sam's resume and contacted him to request a consultation. Sam suggested we meet promptly to discuss the MVA and the pain I was experiencing. We met later the same day. Sam showed genuine concern for my well-being first and foremost and offered his expert advice. He never once pressured me about retaining his services (as many lawyers do). I am typically a good judge of character and because of this encounter, I immediately felt comfortable with Sam and decided to retain him to represent me going forward relating to this matter. It turns out the injuries (neck and back) I suffered as a result of the MVA were moderate to severe. I immediately began treatment for the injuries. After several months of treatment, I was involved in a similar MVA (rear-ended by another motorist). At this time, I had made some progress towards recovering from the injuries sustained as a result of the first MVA. Despite that fact, this second MVA re-aggravated a previous injury (back) and caused a new injury (hand). Of course, I contacted Sam to inform of my misfortune. As usual, he was responsive and expressed concern for me physically and mentally more than anything. He assured me that the first thing I should do is inform the panel of physicians I had been seeing as a result of the first MVA and determine if there was further damage and the extent of injury to my hand. Of course, I followed his advice and once we learned the extent of the injuries we proceeded accordingly. As a result of the first MVA, I sustained damage to nerves in my cervical spine. As a result of the second MVA I needed surgery on my hand due to a torn metacarpsal ligament in addition to herniated disc in my lumbar spine. As one would imagine, these injuries required some invasive treatment and months of physical therapy. Once progress was being made, Sam filed suit. The legal process is tedious, and although I am highly educated, Sam simplified the process for me and shared the nuggets that were critical to the cases. After approximately 16 months after the first MVA, we finally had a date for trial. I assume this served as a catalyst for negotiations between the liable parties insurers and Sam. Shortly after learning of the trial date, mediation was presented as an option. 20 months after the first MVA, it was time for mediation. Of course Sam had explained to me how such matters typically proceed in Delaware and what options I had if mediation was not successful. Sam also explained the value of cases similar to mine are valued at in Delaware. Mediation proceeded and all I can say is it went very well and a settlement was reached in my favor. Settlement for both cases combined were in excess of $100k. Typically, similar cases in Delaware settle for somewhere in the neighborhood of $50-75k. The mediator even commented that my case was outside of the norm and I was receiving a settlement considered premium. I believe Sam's knowledge, expertise and savvy was instrumental in why I received such a favorable settlement. Not only do I now have an attorney who I can call if such matters surface again but I've also gained a friend in the process. Sam is awesome at what he does professionally but an even better person personally. Thanks Sam
