Katherine L Hemming

Katie Hemming is an attorney working in the areas of personal injury, workers' compensation and medical malpractice. She worked as a paralegal for eight years during college and law school, Katie Hemming received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Delaware. She went on to earn her juris doctor from Widener University School of Law, where she was a member of the ADR Society.

Prior to joining Weik, Nitsche & Dougherty, Katie worked for a large regional personal injury firm representing injured clients. Additionally, Katie previously worked at both national and regional defense law firms where she represented insurance companies. As a result, Katie is aware of how insurance companies attempt to diminish the value of injury claims and can effectively advise her clients to achieve the appropriate compensation for their injuries.

Ms. Hemming is a member of the Delaware Bar and the Federal District Court for the District of Delaware. She is also admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association Women and Law Section, the Randy J. Holland Delaware Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court, the American Association for Justice and the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association. She also has served as a coach and judge for the Delaware High School Mock Trial Competition.
