Cassandra Faline Roberts

A native Delawarean, I am a graduate of the University of Delaware and The Dickinson Law School of Penn State University.  I have been in practice since 1982, and served as a judicial clerk for the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, prior to entering private practice.  I have spent my entire career representing injured workers and also protecting the rights of insurance carriers on questionable claims, with almost 30 years of litigation before the Delaware Industrial Accident Board.

I am a three time winner of the Delaware Today Magazine "Top Lawyer" award for best work comp attorney, and have the distinction of being the only Delaware lawyer recognized as a "Top Lawyer" for both the claimant and the defense.  For the last several years I have been cited in The Best Lawyers in America for workers compensation and have also been recognized as a Top Lawyer in the Journal of Corporate Counsel.

My blog, The Delaware Detour & Frolic, has been named among the "Top 25" national blogs for workers'compensation and workplace issues by LexisNexis since 2009.  I have also since 1997 published the only newletter that reports on and highlights Delaware IAB rulings, The Delaware CaseLaw Update.

I am a frequent speaker and faculty member for continuing education in the area of workers'compensation, serving as a moderator and faculty for the Sterling Advanced Workers' Compensation Seminar as well as the annual DE State Bar Assn. Annual Workers' Compensation Seminar.  I have a special interest in the 2008 amendments to our medical treatment statute, and specifically the area of Utilization Review and the DE Health Care Practice Guidelines.
