Professionalism and Character-- the Best in Representation

When I met with Michael Corrigan for the initial consultation, I was bringing to him a complicated, contentious divorce and custody issue that was only escalating in intensity and cost. I was frustrated by prior representation--after having engaged one attorney who encouraged me to simply share cust...ody jointly, and another who did not represent me adequately and left me to hash out a hasty interim custody agreement with my ex the night before a trial that I regretted. I was in need of someone who could understand why I took the stance I did, and then help me translate those needs into sensible legal actions. From my first meeting with him, Mr. Corrigan communicated with an air of confidence and sensitivity. He truly listened to my story and understood the numerous concerns I had about custody of my child. He explained my options clearly, and helped me better understand how the Family Court operates so that I could make an informed decision. He validated my perspective about my child’s best interests, and offered a clear plan for how to approach my case. This was in the midst of a situation where numerous actions were required; he and his paralegal Jenny stepped in and took up my case swiftly, and got up to speed with all the pending dates and responses that were needed. I left that first meeting feeling more at ease and hopeful than I had in several months. As the case progressed, Mr. Corrigan continued to be quick to respond with insightful, sound legal advice. He answered all my questions thoroughly, and it was clear from his guidance that he had accumulated much wisdom from his years of practice. He offered recommendations that he thought would bring the case closer to closing, and encouraged me to compromise when that was the best course of action. He equally encouraged me to stand my ground when that was needed. I never felt pressured into a decision, nor did I feel that any input was lacking as I had with the other attorneys. Both Mr. Corrigan and Jenny were endlessly supportive, patient, and responsive. I can happily say at this time that Mr. Corrigan’s representation has resulted in a settlement agreement that not only works for me, but exceeds my expectations of what I thought was possible. His efforts have succeeded for me where two other attorneys have failed. I simply cannot recommend his services highly enough; he is knowledgeable, confident, professional, wise, and—in a field where so many others are clearly not—he is ethical. It is apparent that he finds family law rewarding, because he is dedicated, and his practice is thriving. In short: I am indebted to Mike and Jenny for their dedication and skill in my case, and wholeheartedly recommend them as an investment in your success.

Michael Corrigan "The Miracle Worker"

I struggled to come up with a suitable title for this review because I wanted it to articulate my thoughts in the best way possible and yet still leave you wanting to know more particulars. The phrase miracle worker is not one that I use lightly. You see, Mr. Corrigan and his legal assistant Mrs. Jen...ny Davis, recently wrapped up a pretty nasty custody battle for me. It was one that I did not even present to Mr. Corrigan's firm until it was already going on for well over a year. This gap in coverage was due to many reasons 1.) Expenses 2.) I was out of state while the child and custody battle resided in Delaware 3.) I felt that I can handle it because of expenses again. Things quickly started to spiral out of my control. I knew I needed help. Therefore, I decided to research family law attorneys which led me to interview a couple. During this time Mr. Corrigan's firmed appeared to not only be the most suited to handle my case, Mr. Corrigan seemed to actually care. This sentiment actually came across over the phone as we spoke at length about the issue in the free consultation where he was also interviewing me to see if he would be able to take on the case. I know you may be waiting on the miracle part. Well, that came in three forms 1.) I gave him this case with only a few short weeks before trial 2.) We had absolutely no leverage in the case yet we were able to settle without even having to go to court and 3.) He was able to do it all at a fair rate. Like I said, a miracle. Mrs. Davis, was also a large part of the miracle of getting my custody issue solved after almost a year and a half of struggle in just a few weeks. Mrs. Davis was the person who provided me with up to date information when Mr. Corrigan may have been in court or dealing with other clients. Their customer service was impeccable and the results are what we all are looking for. Therefore, if you have a firm like Michael Corrigan's there is no need to worry because you will get great results with superior service. Not to mention, they just might work a miracle for you and your family. I am forever grateful to them both.

Highly Recommend

I highly recommend Michael as an attorney! I moved here from another state with my husband in 2015 and after over 20 years of marriage found myself filing for divorce. Any person embarking through this process knows how difficult it is. He and Jen saw my divorce through to the end. His fees are more ...than fair and they went above and beyond to ensure that I received all that was entitled to. From beginning to end they stayed close and answered all my questions and worked hard for the best outcome. The divorce proceedings started in July as amicable and then became very messy and very complicated. They did not waver in their support and professionalism and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. It was one of - if not the most - difficult time of my life and knowing my future was in the hands of such knowledge, professionalism and genuine care and concern made this time in my life a little less scary and palatable. I am extremely grateful to them both. Any person looking for representation through a similar circumstance will not be disappointed choosing Michael Corrigan to represent them. Thanks again! Your rave review is well deserved and earned by your hard work and dedication to serving others.

Beware!

This guy should not be practicing family law. Sent me a bill that clearly had a credit balance going in. Wasn't due until 4-4-17. Received a motion to withdrawaI on 3-29-17 citing "client has failed to honor her contractual financial obligation to counsel making ongoing representation difficult if no...t iimpossible" . as if divorce isn't hard enough this toolbox has managed to make an horrendous situation even worse. Shame on him.

Linda: I am sorry you feel the way you do. As we agreed at the outset of my representation, I took on your case with a considerably lower retainer than usual; understanding that you would need to make additional payments in the not too distant future. I filed to withdraw only after your retainer was exhausted AND you advised that I would need to wait until your house sells before being paid additional monies. At that time, you were not even divorced and the property division portion of your case had not even begun. Sale of your house could have been a year or more away. If I represented all of my clients based on a promise to pay at some indefinite time in the future I suspect I would have been out of business long ago. I wish you the best with the balance of your litigation.
