also known as Greg Birney
I am an attorney licensed and actively practicing in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. I have appeared in Court in all four states and have a broad base of experience in a variety of areas of the law.
Prior to law school, I was among the youngest liquor licensees in Maryland, having been licensed at age eighteen (18). After over a decade as a retailer, I pursued a law degree specifically to advise those in the alcoholic beverages industry. During law school, I clerked for Attorney John Connell whose practice focuses on licensing and regulatory issues facing the industry. While awaiting bar exam results, I worked as a temporary legal assistant in the legal department at The Boston Beer Company, makers of Samuel Adams. Since launching my own practice in 2016, I have advised retailers and producers on various matters, including license renewals/transfers, wholesaler termination, and even Anti-Money Laundering. As part of my practice, I have assisted a number of clients with selling their businesses, both within the alcoholic beverages industry and in other industries.
In addition to advising the alcoholic beverages industry, I also enjoy estate planning and administration, assisting businesses with various legal issues, and advising consumers in debt collection cases.
In addition to practicing law, I volunteer in the community by serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors of CASA of Cecil County, Inc., a non-profit with the mission of assisting foster children in Cecil County, Maryland. I regularly provide pro bono services through organizations, specifically Delaware Volunteer Legal Services.

"An excellent lawyer who treats clients with patience, care, understanding, and utmost professionalism - an even better person and I wholeheartedly recommend for future services."
"Greg and I have been friends for a few years and recently worked together on a debt collection matter, representing the debtor. Greg is one of the best lawyers I have ever come across. His attention to detail and thorough understanding of procedural matters, combined with his extraordinary work ethic, make him a force to be reckoned with in any litigated matter. Greg and I found that our skills complement each other. Greg writes outstanding pleadings and motions, while I am very comfortable arguing and presenting in court. You will not find a harder working, better prepared, analytical, honest, and motivated attorney than Attorney Greg Birney."
