If you are looking for a way to do divorce differently in Pennsylvania then you need look no further. For 30 years, I have been working with families and individuals transitioning through difficult life changing events whether it is new marriages, separations, divorce, or custody or support issues. My true calling and passion has always been to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
Where there is conflict I help mediate conflicting interests in such a way that everyone feels as if they have “won”. I do this by making sure that everyone involved feels confident that all of their own concerns and issues have been satisfactorily addressed and settled in a fair and peaceful way. As a result, I am able to cultivate in my clients a high level of confidence in my legal advice and skills.
While I prefer to try to help my clients avoid painful court battles and minimize conflict in order to reach peaceful resolutions that will benefit them individually as well the whole family I can if necessary be a zealous advocate for my clients in court,
I am a member of the bars of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, the Federal Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court.
I have been practicing law in Montgomery County and the surrounding counties since graduating from Villanova Law School in 1986.
I began my career as a peacemaker, in 1992, when I became a trained mediator in the area of family law, having received my certification from the National Center for Mediation Education.
In furtherance of my career as a peacemaker, I was appointed as part time custody conciliator for Montgomery County in January 2010 where I still currently serve to assist families to reach peaceful agreements rather than have their custody cases be resolved by judicial intervention. It is position I thoroughly enjoy.
And while I have always sought to practice family law in a collaborative way, I have only just received my official certification as a Collaboratively Trained Lawyer in 2017.
As part of my family law/peacemaker career, I have continuously refined and honed my people skills. Many people have often complimented me on my insightfulness. This expertise has very often allowed me to accurately and effectively cut to the heart of a matter as I have developed the ability to recognize and make use of the nuances of each case in which I am involved.
These skills have also allowed me to put most people (whether clients or lawyers) at ease. I work to prevent misunderstandings by clearly stating the issues and the facts. I empathetically address all of a client’s issues and concerns. I work to diffuse possible issues of conflict before they arise.
