Peter Nathan Kessler

Peter N. Kessler has extensive experience litigating business issues, commercial disputes, fraud claims, securities class actions, Section 16 issues, and SEC enforcement matters. He has represented banks, large businesses, small businesses, hedge funds, developers, broker-dealers, and private individuals in a variety of business-oriented matters.  Past matters have included the representation of a bank in the resolution of litigation stemming from a securitization of a significant asset; the litigation of several issues stemming from the receivership of a defunct hedge fund; the litigation of multiple breach of contract actions for a large public company; the defense of a Canadian company facing parallel securities class actions; the defense of a New Jersey chief executive officer facing parallel civil and criminal claims; the defense of an individual against fraud, malpractice and other claims in a purported state class action; litigation between minority and majority shareholders in a closely held company; the successful resolution of several different insider trading matters for several clients in amounts ranging from under $10,000 to many millions of dollars; the litigation of issues, both civil and criminal, stemming from the use, proposed use, or trading of complex financial instruments; and, in some cases, the prudent avoidance of litigation altogether.

Mr. Kessler received his B.A. from Yale, graduating with distinction in the English major.  He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in fiction writing from the University of Arkansas, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.  Prior to joining Spector Gadon & Rosen, P.C.'s Commercial Litigation Group, Mr. Kessler litigated for several years with the New York based law firm Kaye Scholer LLP.
