Unprepared

Despite sharing detailed documents and information on our needs to Ms. Dabrowski prior to our meeting we felt that she was unprepared. We researched the issues we wanted to discuss and quickly realized she could not provide the legal guidance we needed based on her responses. Her comments about our... situation were inaccurate, reinforcing the fact that she had not spent time preparing for our meeting. Despite this, we were charged $350 for a consultation, which we disputed, and were told she was not contractually obligated to prepare in advance or spend any minimum amount of time with us.

For in-person consultations, I schedule a definite appointment time to which I devote full attention. A client has an option of bringing documents in paper or cd-rom or a USB drive to the meeting. Alternatively, a client may transmit documents in a pdf format via email before the meeting. Unfortunately, the person posting this comment apparently assumed that I would devote substantial time prior to the scheduled consultation to analyze voluminous documents. For remote consultations conducted by phone or email, clients send pertinent information by email attachments or delivery of documents to my office.

"Doris Dobrowski is a superfine advocate on pension and benefits issues. I have known Doris for about 7 years. She and I have discussed issues relating to ERISA, pensions, health benefits, long term disability, as well as New Jersey state pensions, including PERS and TPAF. Doris is sensible and levelheaded. I trust her judgment. I am also impressed with her willingness to fight for her clients for as long as it takes. I compare notes with her on fringe benefits issues. As such, I am taking this opportunity to provide a hearty endorsement to Doris Dobrowski, Esq."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
