Timothy M. Kolman

I was devastated when my employer terminated me and felt very lost. After calling Timothy Kolman and meeting with him to discuss my problem I knew this was the man for me. Wow, what can I say about this law firm. They took my case and gave me a realistic consultation regarding all the variables that could emerge during the legal process. They explained that many things go into settling a case and they even explained that sometimes a case could go on for months before n...ew evidence arises that can either hurt a case or help it. They take cases on a contingency and don't get paid unless they win. In other other words these law firms take risks every time they take a case on. In my case they eventually won a settlement for me, but it was not what I thought I would get. However, unfortunately due to my own forgetful memory on some things, during discovery, the opposing side presented evidence late in the case that weakened things for me. Although I won a settlement I know that my bad memory hurt both me and Tim's law firm. In the end their patience and professionalism won the day and I just wanted to say thank you.

Employment law is not always cut and dry, unfortunately there are more cases in the "grey / gray area" than their are in the black & white category. I am an attorney myself who specializes in criminal law and deferred my own labor issue to Timothy Kolman from a friends recommendation. Tim's firm outl...ined the strategy they wanted to take in my case and explained why in my specific case that prolonging the case would be beneficial in the long run. I was very anxious and impatient about the whole situation but decided to listen to the expert. There is a reason why we have professionals handle things for us in life. We call on dentists to treat our teeth, cardiologists to treat our hearts and landscapers to care for our lawns. Even though I am a lawyer myself I still handed over my case to the professional that only handles employment law cases. With that said people who may have been taken advantage of by their employers are generally very upset and frustrated by the time they seek out an attorney to help them. They might think that fast action is what is needed when in fact patience might be the best course of action. Law often times comes down to negotiation, compromise and always involves peoples emotions. Hence the terrible stories you may have read about bad divorces. Usually when someone complains they complain because they did not get what they wanted, but that reason alone by itself should not be the only reason a good lawyers efforts and reputation be destroyed. Timothy Kolman was able to win my case for me, however it did take almost a year to resolve and the cash award was not what I would have preferred, but I was never misled into thinking more was expected. In fact tim's firm always presented a conservative and careful perspective on any type of eventual award. Often times it is us the customer that engages in wishful thinking because our emotion is involved. We as victims of our employers do not normally see the law process as a business but unfortunately it is a business. Law is a business for everyone involved and sometimes the business is very profitable and sometimes it's not as profitable. If your case is just and the damages are grave, in most cases some type of justice will prevail. However, we almost always never get what we want, it just does not work out that way. I would recommend Timothy Kolman to anyone who wants a clear and honest firm to tell it like it is, no matter how painful or unsatisfactory it might be to them.

I hired Mr. Kolman because of wrongful termination. Unfortunately he didn’t handle my case professionally. I had to hire another lawyer to learned that there was a hearing about which Mr. Kolman didn’t tell me at all. During the course of the case he showed indifference, didn’t read the materials and... didn’t work on the case at all. I would never recommend Mr. Kolman as a lawyer.
