Michael represented my husband and me when we were faced with the threat of a very nasty Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation (SLAPP) suit from a nuisance bar in our neighborhood in Center City. The issue required Michael to understand the complex relationships and responsibilities of many state and city agencies. I spent two years developing this knowledge and Michael picked it up very quickly. Michael also understood our position and assured us that we were being extremely reasonable given the situation. He put our priorities ahead of his own, charged a modest and reasonable rate and was extremely flexible on his terms of payment. (We paid for a year of representation over three months, which helped us maintain our budget.) He made it clear that his first priority was to ensure that we were comfortable and had access to the legal service we required.
Michael conducted his business with a high level of ethics. He has excellent negotiating skills and very collaborative. We enjoyed working with him (as much as one can enjoy the threat of a lawsuit) and will certainly retain his service should we need a lawyer going forward.
