First of all, I want to thank the attorneys that took time out of their busy schedules to even address my issue. I actually had my court appearance this past Thursday. I decided to plead no contest with an explanation, no attorney present. About a week earlier, I sent a complaint to the prosecutor's ...office because 2 days before the original hearing date, I called the Clerks office to find out what the fine would be and when the hearing was, since I lost the ticket. There was no record of me in their system, so I just figured it had been dismissed because of surrounding circumstances. I was then charged with a failure to appear, no notice was sent even thought it stated that fact online. When I appeared before the judge, he asked where I got the complaint form and I told him online. Neither the Prosecutor or judge had ever seen this form. I then explained how I did not know the son was driving the vehicle (the son came with me) and I did not feel I was responsible. The judge looked up and smiled and said, "have a nice day." I thanked him and quickly left. Case dismissed, no cost for fines or attorney fee's. Thanks again.-Diana C.
