Biography
Attorney Matthew L. Clemente, a native of Northeast Pennsylvania, grew up in Wayne County. He attended Honesdale High School and worked on a sheep farm during the summers. Matt earned his Bachelors of Arts from Cornell University, where he studied Philosophy and Government and graduated summa cum laude. He went on to attain his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. He was admitted to practice law by both the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Matt is a member of the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Prior to entering private practice, Attorney Clemente served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert D. Mariani, District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He is also employed as a part-time public defender, representing indigent clients in criminal matters in Luzerne County. Matt lives in Dunmore with his fiancée, Shaina, daughter, Adeline, and rescue cat, Hobbes.
