You need to have a proven track record as a lawyer who has gone to trial. You need recommendations from Judges and opposing attorneys. You have to pass a comprehensive examination. I have also been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year for the last ten years. This is an honor bestowed on only 5% of Pennsylvania's attorneys.
