Words can never express the level of gratitude I have for Doug Vanston.

Initially I was charged with a Felony 1 aggravated assault along with a slew of other charges. The first time Doug and I spoke he assured me I wasn't taking a Felony and asked if I was prepared to go to trial. Immediately I felt relieved, this was the first time a court appointed lawyer made me feel ...confident. The second time Doug Vanston amazed me was when I violated my bail, I was arrested and sitting in county. It wasn't even 24 hours before I was released. Doug came to me with an offer the county had made me, no doubt because of the work he was doing on my behalf. Felony 1 aggravated assault to a Misdemeanor 2 simple assault. Meanwhile my daughter who's had health issues since birth was scheduled for surgery in Boston and I wanted this behind me so I agreed to take the offer. Some things are out of everyone's hands and I learned that at my sentencing. The judge gave me 1 - 2 years aggregated sentence, 6-12 for each of my M2 charges ran consecutively. My heart sank knowing I'd miss my daughters heart surgery but out of left field, still a mystery to me, Doug came through for me and I was released from jail to be there for my daughter. When we came home from surgery he told me I didn't have to go back to jail that I can serve my time on house arrest. I'm truly grateful for this man and I know my daughter would be too. Nothing I say or do will show my gratitude. I owe Doug Vanston so much.

The best

Doug is the most reliable attorney I’ve ever met, he works hard for his clients, and even went out of the way to keep me updated every chance he had. He’s very genuine and works very hard to get the best out of a situation. I can say with confidence that this man is hands down an ideal attorney, he t...reats every case as if it has to do with his own family, and is more reliable than the average attorney

No one better

I am taking this opportunity to write a review for Attorney Doug Vanston because when no one else would help he did. Doug gave all he had to help my son and to make sure I was informed every step of the way. He worked as hard if not harder than any paid attorney. He believes in what he is doing and ...genuinely cares for those he works with. He is an amazing human being.

Nice guy but weak

I've been dealing with Doug for approximately 1 year with a criminal case. In the beginning I thought he was great. He said he was going to do all these specific things like get an investigator on the case to prove that I was being harassed. And subpoena witnesses. Not. But of course in Lackaw...anna County they do not arrest women for harassment only men. To make a long story short I have many many witnesses and lots of evidence against this person and Doug wanted me to just plead guilty to one summary harassment. There is no proof of harassment I have all the proof on the other individual. Doug is very weak and besides he is fresh out of college. Nice guy though. Unfortunately his inexperience could cost me my freedom. My case should have been thrown out day one. I had to hire a real lawyer for this BS. It also involves several other individuals and police officers in a malicious prosecution. They're just trying to put me in jail without due process and evidence. The plaintiff's own statements under oath even say I was not harassing her or threatening her. It doesn't get any more innocent than that. So yeah Doug sucks as a lawyer.

For a public defender he went to work on my behalf!!!

Every public defender I ever had throughout my life never done nothing for me. This guy is another story. I was facing years for a high speed chase and this man went to war for me and get me immediate work release and under two years when I was facing almost 6 total. This is a great man who cares abo...ut his clients and knows what he is doing. Highly recomment
