I found Tim Colgan by chance. My ex-wife moved with our three children from South PA/Maryland line 80 miles away into central PA. I needed a PA lawyer quickly. This was the beginning of a very long journey thru custody battles, child support hearings, and general legal matters. Tim throughout was extremely helpful in guiding me thru the legal riggers and a person who could talk me down when the emotions of a broken family would run high. Tim would listen to what I wanted to do, then he would take that and respond with why or why not it could work within the legal process. Tim will give you his suggestions (incorporating my wishes) and discuss the most likely ruling from the court. Tim would form a plan that would give us the best chance for a favorable ruling. Almost always the outcome was what we expected. I have found Tim Colgan and his staff to be very professional. Tim is also honest he will tell it to you straight even if it stings and for me that is all I can ask for straight up and honest. Mr. Colgan was very knowledgeable about family law and was excellent at explaining matters that were confusing. He also demonstrated an extraordinary ability to read between the lines of what a person was saying, and seemed to understand the tactics of an abusive/controlling person. When the collab...orative process became murky, he was able to stay on top of the important issues at hand and guide the process to a positive and fair outcome, particularly when my former spouse tried to change the topic or take control excessively.

I contacted Mr. Colgan seeking clarification regarding family law. I was contacted promptly & an appointment was set up quickly. My child's biological father's rights were terminated when my child was young. Now that a grandchild has entered the arena he felt he had rights to exercise regarding th...e expected child. Mr. Colgan double checked case law from the time the rights were terminated & confirmed that he had no rights to exercise regarding the grandchild. He then sent a letter explaining he has no rights & also requesting him to end all communication attempts direct or indirect with any family member. I received a follow up call updating me on the letter delivery. Mr. Colgan was professional & personable. I would not hesitate to contact him again if needed as my experience was excellent.
